KLM and Air France with their flexibility can chop and change a flight at short notice
and sometimes send a larger aircraft even though it is not needed on that particular flight but is on a later one

Hope that makes sense

I did notice last Monday that the new "central security" area has opened - for T1 pax at least (it seemed to be boarded up at the T2 end). There's nice views to be had over the ramp/runway whilst you're standing in inevitable line for screening - I commented that "this is new" and was told that - it'd been open for just a few days and whilst they'd got a lot of nice new scanners/x-ray machines they hadn't yet got enough staff to man them all!!!

PIA/Ryanair

PIA

The 4th weekly ISB seems to be bookable again from Sunday 26th December.

Ryanair

Five based now just a shame only three fly at best. Rumours of up to ten to be parked at BHX this winter. One way of making the airport look busy and no doubt a few bob as well.

There is a t*****r t****t from BHX apparently about an exciting announcement tomorrow.

However dreams have been crushed already, as rumour has it that it does not involve new routes, airlines added frequencies or the runway extension.

Never mind, PIA restoring the 4th frequency in December is probably enough excitement for one week.

Finally admitting that they're running a shopping mall which has a large strip of concrete next to it?

Another of PK's master strokes (?)......Costing God knows what, with little or no gain...I'm sure airlines are going to flock to it now they have dropped the 'International' and it has a new logo......
Passengers really couldn't give a monkey's about logo's and mission statements. I'm sure the totally demoralised staff are ecstatic about it all.....
Rant over....I'm going for a lie down now...

I agree call, this new logo and 'new name' isnt going to bring airlines en-masse to BHX. Its not as if an airline has said:

''we decided not to serve Birmingham as their company logo looked outdated, and additionally, we don't route to airports that have an 'international' tag in their name...''

Total waste of money.

With the press release to this logo, PK has said he wants more locals to use the airport, but was dropping the 'international; tag and new logo the way forward. People searching for flights usually put 'Flights to Birmingham' anyway, so I really do fail to see what all this has achieved?

At least they didn't go down the road of naming the airport after a famous brummie (!) A fad started after New York named it's idlewild airport after a famous president and even recently belfast named it's city airport after a drunkard. I think east midlands had a dabble with name changing too and i also seem to remember 'shakespeare international' banded around for a while. In the end , as many have said , it makes not a jot of difference , it doesn't change what you are , except in P.R. circles when you have nothing better to do. " i know !! lets re-brand!

easyjet/rebrand

easyjet

The GVA & GNB schedule has been released for the period 27/03 onwards.

Better than last year due to a late Easter but no summer service again.

Geneva stays daily to 22/4, skips 23/4 and the final flight is 24/4.

GNB ends the same day.

Rebrand

I think the previous days tweet sums up BHX's plight quite nicely "exciting".
What would have been used if it was a new route or airline.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Jasper Carot Airport Birmingham, The local time is.........."

Not much imagination gone into this rebranding, waste of time and space.
