Does not sound very substantiated. Sounds as if anna.aero has had a look at a German map and is doing a bit of name dropping and, guess what, have come up with Belrin as the most likely airberlin destination...
Alas, AB top brass have commented that the airline's E190 are not equipped for LCY.

I see the experts have arrived. Bombardier has been talking to LCY for a number of years now, and LCY has been talking to the airlines. The first user of the CSeries at LCY is likely to be Swiss, who isn't taking delivery until 2015 if I recall correctly.

The Flynonstop twice weekly to Kristiansand now appears to be five times weekly operated by flexflight. Is is still being flown by PH-FNS the ERJ-190?
Previous flt no J7 210 / 211 is now W2 7210 / 7211.

Anyone have any useful insight into Flynonstop's route to KRS ?
CAA provisional Aug stats indicate average of 30 pax per flight. Admittedly August is not great for corporate-focussed routes and yes ticket prices are a long way from LCC fares, but still thinking that passenger numbers are looking a little low for a route with the cost of a wet lease / charter 100 seat E190

LCY - EDI route
Dublin-based Cityjet will withdraw from the busy London City to Edinburgh route at the end of October.
Is there any news of any other airline taking over the route to offer competition.........

What gives you the idea that any other carrier could somehow break into the EDI-LCY market successfully where Cityjet has failed after 6 years of trying? Airline planners take risks which don't always come off, but they are not generally that stupid.
Wait, though... that gives me an idea. (Adopts confiding voice) "Minoan. Yeah, that's it, I've heard Minoan are going to start the route... "

Crazy stuff - Darwin has filed for slots to operate LCY-DUS next summer (0835 and 1700 departures from DUS). Not sure if these applications are left-overs from the time before BA started ops.
It appears as if the plan was/is to operate a CBG - DUS - LCY - DUS -CBG rotation for the morning departure and a POZ/WRO - TXL - DUS - LCY - DUS - TXL - POZ/WRO rotation for the afternoon departure.

BA has filed for slots as well. As the first departure from DUS has been filed for 0645, the idea apparently is to nightstop to aircraft in DUS rather than in LCY. The Darwin aircraft could indeed offer a morning departure, but according to the current slots filings, it would return to LCY in the evening. My understanding is that the Berlin operation is in co-operation with airberlin, so there would indeed be an oneworld link. However, a total of five daily flights to LCY seems to be quite a lot of capacity - my impression was that the DUS route has not attracted spectacular loads so far.
As the Darwin slots are still not cleared, it probably does not make too much sense to waste too much brain power on it.

BA is at 0645 from Dusseldorf at present, which turns round at LCY to an 0735 return departure. Because of the hour's clock difference with continental Europe, and many flights being around an hour long, it is more effective for LCY aircraft to overnight in Europe to give early departures in both directions. Starting in the UK (as in the Cambridge example above) means the return flight can't leave until after 0900, which just is not competitive in this market, with many high-yield passengers doing day return trips.
Disappointing to hear of poor loads to Dusseldorf. I went some (maybe 10) years ago when VLM did the route, but they used Moenchengladbach instead of the main Dusseldorf airport, which was a tedious taxi journey from the city. Loads were always in single figures, I had better hopes for DUS itself.

WHBM, thanks for clarifying this.
The LCY - DUS market has been served for 20 years now, initially by VLM from Düsseldorf Express airport with up to four daily Fokker 50 flights. When VLM withdrew around 2003 or so, European Air Express took over from DUS with ATRs. When EAE went bancrupt, it was replaced by Lufthansa/Contactair.
One problem of that particular route has always been that there is relatively litte daytrip demand from the UK end. I often used the morning flights from LCY to MGL or DUS as they were often very empty - I remember a few with a one digit pax load - and thus extremely cheap (for LCY flights). While this is a phenomenon true for many LCY routes, DUS seems to suffer from it more than others (at least it used to).
