At a guess this go around (balked landing) was caused by a slightly long landing with touchdown beyond the limits of the touchdown zone. (There are 2 white lights about a third of the way down the runway which mark the point at which you must be on the ground, if you touchdwon beyond these lights it is a mandatory go around).

Probably not. But the person filming that landing would have disobeyed the cabin crew's instructions to turn off all electronic devices once the aircraft had begun its descent. Where does it end? Should passengers have the right to decide which of the crew's instructions to comply with and which to ignore?

Thanks BBMF for unexpectedly overflying LCY (and our house) today when I was home, probably about 1,500 feet. Good you got between the rain showers.
Only problem, on hearing approaching R-1830s ("YaddaYaddaYadda") I ran out to the south side of the house, only to discover the DC3 pass slightly to the north. Blast ! A minute later, hear numerous approaching Merlins ("Vooooommmmmm"), ran out to the north this time, to find the Lancaster and Spit pass slightly to the south. Double Blast !

Cimber dropping LCY-CPH
Can't say this is a surprise alas with a shiny new Brazilian as the other option (!)
Been a while since BA muscled somebody else off a short haul route as it's usuallly the Orange Juggernaut doing it to them at Gatwick. Good news though as the fares seem to be consistently lower on the ERJ.

Have read on another forum that Cityjet will introduce Florence as a new destination starting December 22 (? - strange date). Nothing on the airline's or airport's website.
Anyone able to confirm?

It won't be BA who's doing the Florence. We've simply got no aircraft and crew to cover it. The new 190's won't arrive until April and June and the new Stockholm service is already covered by the standby aircraft.

Dublin? or Belfast?
Too mean to buy a long personal title
NB - the FLR times of the Sunday flights are wrongly reported there. AF5281 arrives FLR 1820, and AF5280 departs FLR at 1855.

FlyBaboo cancels GVA
BaBoo is cancelling LCY-GVA very soon, the F7 901/902. Mentioned on airliners.de, and can confirm from their booking engine: Down to one per day from 31st Oct, and down to zero from 8th Nov 2010. Saw this coming. Let's see who buys BaBoo. Wouldn't mind to have BA back on the LCY-GVA market, esp as otherwise, it would be a Star Alliance monopoly...

Add to that the suspension of Jersey and a reduction on the AMS. (down to 8 a day from ? )
Question. Will we see KLC operate their E190's into LCY and replace the CityJet RJ's on some services? I can see pro's and con's to this. What's your though?
