BACF Emb 170 won't be doing circuits at LCY. All Captains steep approach aircraft training is being done at Cambridge as BAladdy said. As for the short check-in times I believe the flights would be operated as charter flights and not scheduled so I assume the short check-in time would not apply.

Departing an hour late today even though the inbound aircraft arrived half an hour early. Supposed to go at 12.50 but hasn't gone yet. Maybe they're waiting to see if they can get two passengers to use it today

Just looking at some shots I got of the new BA A318 on stand 24 t'other day, I noticed they had some nice "new" Servisair steps at door 1L with three more in the background. Is this just some second hand gear LCY have picked up for the new service or have Cobalt got a new competitor again. Has been a handling monopoly since Menzies left.

No just a temporary back up due to late delivery of shiny new steps large enough for the 318 & E170 aircraft. Supplier of new equipment should have delivered all new steps within the next few weeks.

They are the sort of carrier whose fleet strategy seems to change all the time, and whose destination list is always different from year to year. Now they are at LCY. Also, from this winter, they are operating to Oxford. There were jokes recently about Oxford Kidlington rebranding itself as a London airport and opening for commercial operations, and FlyBaboo are the first carrier I have noticed taking them up. It's not much of a service, just once a week on Saturdays to Geneva in December to April only, the ski season. Notably it's a Saturday afternoon operation, when London City is closed, I would guess they would rather have operated it to LCY, along with the rest of their new service, if they could.

Thanks WHBM. It wouldn't surprise me if we saw them operate the E190 into LCY as ell. Afterall, the steep approach function is retrofittable and there were talks of yet another E-Jet operator starting service to LCY.

As for other airlines operating E-Jets at LCY, José Luis Molina, Embraer’s new VP airline market, EMEA, said that FlyBaboo, which operates three E-190s, is considering services to the airport as well as another airline which wishes its firm plans to remain undisclosed, but which is receiving aircraft with the steep approach button fitted.
