that route was TERRIBLE! it was astounding from a load factor point of view (80-95%), but basically the only people flying it were students and bicycle riders - 70% originating from Germany to Bournemouth.
Ryanair will return to Germany from Bournemouth but i can assure you it won't be a daily Hahn (maybe a 3 weekly Hahn!)

I have noticed Ryanair has removed from its booking engine the previously confirmed summer schedules to BVA, BGY, as well as WRO. These routes are bookable just until the of March.

Yes you're correct. Just checked the booking system. The good news is that there are some new destinations, as yet not bookable.
Reus
carcassonne
Faro
Limoges
I guess a press release will be on their website tomorrow.
Looks as though FR are trying to find routes that work, which in the long run is a good thing.

Have tried to book the yearly ski holiday from Bournemouth with Crystal Ski to Grenoble and nothing came up
In touch with Crystal ski and they have said after talking with there flight operations scheduler that no flights will operate this year from Bournemouth to Grenoble and Turin ! ( nearly 20 years now Crystal have operated ski charters from Hurn ) due to no aircraft available ?
I know European Aviation used to operate some flights but these were passed over to Thomsonfly for the last few years

City Break destinations work well from BOH
Just like Bristol the city break market is strong from BOH.
RYR would do well to look at Prague, and perhaps Rome (subject to the Ciampino political antics and the silly airport charges in Prague)
Faro will do well, so would Morocco (Marakech).
Wroclaw served the Polish customers better but with the expat market collapsing, Krakow should be able to support a more diverse customer base.
Hamburg is another strong contender for diverse business and leisure use from BOH.
Nice would be nice. Lots of historical connections between the south coast and the cote d'azur.
Stockholm would be my last pick for predictions in 2009. Bournemouth has been a favourite destination for Swedish blondes for more than 30 years...
Keep up the good work Ryanair1

i don't get why Ryanair would start new Paris Beauvais route from BOH in the WINTER at only THREE times a week... a kid could tell you that won't work.
so MANY other opportunities RIPE for the picking from BOH and they don't even bother with them! Come on Ryanair pull your socks up. NO reason at all why BOH can't support 3 or 5 based Ryanair B737-800's

Thanks for the news . But Carcasonne will not come
News - 2009-01-22 Ryanair
And what does the (w) means after Belfast and Stockholm?
1 a/c and 10 new routes. So a lot of 4/7, 3/7 and 2/7 frequencies to come. Will the french destinations all be served in winter? I'm not sure.

Grenoble–Bournemouth – winter
Grenoble to Bournemouth Bournemouth to Grenoble
Travel Day Flt No. Dep. Arr. Flt No. Dep. Arr.
Tu,Th 6294 10:40 11:20 6293 11:50 14:25
Sa 6292 15:40 16:20 6291 16:50 19:25
why is easyJet still showing this on their website, not only on schedules but also on route map and booking engine. Only thing it doesnt allow is to actually make the booking...
easyJet would do so well from BOH on Nice, Palma, Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris, Newcastle, Belfast, Jersey, Berlin, Roma, Geneva (summer too) what are they waiting for!?

I am yet to fly from Bournemouth, but I am going to be moving to Portsmouth soon and it is closer than Stansted or Gatwick. But surely it needs a bigger runway and a bigger terminal to cope with the new routes?
I hope Ryanair can do a route to Rome Ciampino, Madrid, Seville, Berlin, and more!
They have started the NEW Barcelona routes, are Easyjet going to join the party or are they sticking at Luton and Gatwick?
Nikolai.
P.S
As a Polish man myself, the more routes - the better!

Hi Nikolai and welcome to the south coast.
Bournemouth's runway is more than long enough to cope with the traffic and destinations flown from here (we even got a fully loaded 747 off the ground here more than once with at least 10 foot of spare runway left...) and with the work on-going at the airport there will soon CatIII operational, an apron space for 6 planes at once, a larger and more modern departures and even the often commented on and loved by all arrivals hut will be replaced by something made from bricks!!!
Originally RyanAir were planned to have three based planes at BOH by Easter 2009, but with the global financial meltdown clearly plans change. The new routes announced yesterday shows the airport is still in FR's thoughts and strong rumours are abound that a second plane will be based here by July.
EasyJet is interesting and there have been rumours that they want to base down for at least 5 years. A few years back there was several sightings of men in Orange looking at the old Basco building but nothing came of it and the building became a garage for VP-BAT instead. The route to Geneva does well every winter but the Grenoble route was dropped this year.
The catchment area for BOH is large but because of the large retired population, most of the popular destinations are south to the sunshine or to second homes (just look at PalmAir successfully surviving year on year).
If BOH would function as a business route airport is yet to be tested. With FlyBE up the road at Southampton it would be a brave move to take them on but the introduction of the EDI route for example has already caused a 15% reduction in FlyBE passengers on the same route in its first two months.
All in all, this is both an exciting and dangerous time for BOH. While all the signs are ripe for massive expansion with the terminal work, the world has changed so much economically in the past six months that a cautious approach is fully understandable by the main airlines. BOH will grow and more routes will become available, it will be interesting to see where and when.

One thing i can't understand with BOH, and being owned by Manchester airport group, why hasn't anyone taken up the idea of a daily shuttle. The prospect a short flight and then onwards to any where in the world. I'm sure it must have crossed some operators mind.

Palma wkly
Palma wkly
The timetable and booking engine currently show Reus as operating Tuesday and Saturday with what appears to be a BOH based aircraft.
However, this seems to be changing by the hour. There was only the Saturday flight showing yesterday. This morning it was showing a Saturday night arrival at 20:05 and a Sunday morning departure at 09:55 which made it look like a Reus based aircraft night-stopping at BOH!! It has now changed to:
Tuesday Depart BOH 06:30
Arrive BOH 10:50
Saturday Depart BOH 15:45
Arrive BOH 20:05
I assume Palma was a typo as it operates 3 wkly (Tue, Thu, Sat)
