With all of Aer Arran's ATR72-500's being used for EI services. What aircraft are they using on the IOM-LCY route??

A tatty, noisy, old ATR42 - see post 1516 et seq above.

It broke today. And another has been down by the hangers for a few days, so I guess that broke as well. For what has been described by others as one of RE's most profitable routes, they seem hell bent on alienating their loyal customers with this tired machinery.

But wait a minute. Perhaps the sweeteners given by Ronaldsway to start the service have stopped. It has been running for just over a year now, hasn't it?

Chitty-

Duff Gen 'fraid. GVA is a very good route and back for next year. It is available as part of a package from the travel operators or as scheduled flights only from the web site. Not all the winter schedule is finalised or released by now. Depending on Travel operator sales, the first flights might be earlier next winter, the last one also should have gone on a week later but it's still a young route.

The Dash is perfect for it, the load is busy but rarely totally full, so baggage is just about OK and the time is about bearable too. It would take a good hour longer on an ATR!

The probability is even more routes next year, one offs and the like.

M reg I understand has been used on aircraft that are between operators or being ferried for storage. But yes you are right M reg is not available for commercial pax aircraft. Yet.

Fellas its the BIG ORANGE day tomorrow and I'll be there with my box brownie to record the event for posteriority. Haven't seen the cattle pens installed yet to herd the masses onto the bus but perhaps the big girl has said that therell be nothing so unseemly here on Fraggle.

It'll be interesting to see the loads generated. My sources indicate that there are a few busy days for EZY during TT but thereafter load factors are rarely above 20%.

No bus for the Bus, it shall be pushed back.

Combination of schedule, and also the fact that when you do a booking for easyjet and flybe (at the base fare that is), there is only £1 difference after uve added your bag, taken your insurance, and card fee.

The easyjet travellers better have good time keeping too.....40min closure time for check-in......'If you are late, we won't wait' is the phrase on the check-in display screen. Should be amusing!

So the big orange ones roll into town today.... easyjet I mean. Interesting take on it by the airport as usual.

'Minister for Infrastructure, Phil Gawne stated: ‘This will be a new era for the Isle of Man, with such a large aircraft on scheduled services, for both the passengers and the Airport staff.'

Yes isn't it great!! How about trying to fill the seats on your existing operaror to LPL before declaring a 'new era'. The only thing new is that IOM is now even in a deeper level of than before.

Can't wait to see the next surprise te IOM authority has in store!

Interestingly, the said 'Minister' referred to the possibility of day trips to the Island, overlooking the fact that the 'big orange' will be in and out in 25 minutes, giving the a maximum possible stay of say, 10 minutes!!

He was obviously really well briefed!!

The Gawne fella was up to his knees in pig droppings and wood shavings in his previous job. He probably doesnt know one end of an airbus from the other. The big girl probably did the writing for him.
