I must say that the third based 757 thing is probably wishful thinking and nothing more than that (the conclusion many have already probably arrived at). Aer Lingus would positively haemorrhage money by undertaking to compete in those markets, especially against an airline it's already codesharing with. If a fourth 757 came to the fleet, I'd put my money on it doing routes ex-DUB, it just makes sense as it's Aer Lingus' transatlantic hub.
As alluded to by others, more interest is in the YHZ proposals ex-DUB, but that'd be best discussed in the Aer Lingus thread.

Looks like Air Transit are leaving SNN. The weekly YYZ-DUB-SNN-YYZ is not available in 2015. They did say DUB yield was lower this year so cutting this flight in 2015.
One thing it does prove is there is no profit to be made by flying a weekly direct SNN-YYZ instead.

A lot of competition on the routes to Canada this year and even more so next year. West Jet starting their service 6 weeks earlier, 1st May, plus EI and Air Rouge , lot of seats to be filled.

So the aircraft will go to DUB or ORK perhaps? Don't EI own 50% of the AT76s? The 43 might get a dab of purple paint and start flying FlyBe contracts from SEN I suppose. The airport needs to avoid becoming too reliant on FR....

Just also thinking the PSO to Kerry and Donegal are to be announced imminently, Stobart probably had a crack at trying to keep Kerry and getting Donegal off Flybe so that could be the home for the aircraft from Feb.

BHX
The rumour mentioned a base closure but are the flights ending? Could BHX be flown daily by a Cork aircraft and same with other routes? I realise useless for transatlantic connections but I would say there is a market for a daily AT72.
The BHX double daily figures (not yield) were fine if it was an all ATR42 operation but as the 72 has been making more appearances as of late the October figures should make interesting reading.
By the way is there a 90-day consultation period for a base closure in Ireland?
No change with the flights on sale as yet.

Stobart are no strangers in making such quick closures.

I had wondered why I've been bumping into SNN crew all over the network these past few weeks. I guess, the wet leased OY-RUG will be used to wind down operations with A/C deployed elsewhere.
I do believe the intention is to keep the 42's for as long as possible and maybe replace with newer frames - guess that might depend on the PSO routes. Stumbling block maybe the costs of operating the 42 500/600s will be a chunk greater than the current 2 skips. I do hope, and expect that ORK-DUB will resurface in 2015.
Any news on where EI-EHH is at the moment?

As regards EI-EHH it hasn't flown in nearly two weeks,I don't know where it is or what's up with it but hopefully it will enter service again soon. I also think that the ATR43's will stay in service for a while as some routes need them to remain and they could possibly develop new routes.

EI-EHH has been repainted in an all-white scheme.

If things haven't changed in the past week, she's still in SEN.
