In the army they duel with pistols, in the navy it's swords, but in this man's RAF it's Lewis gun versus javelin. Still at least now it's better than when it was blunderbuss's and balloons.

The CO's new approach to the annual fitness tests certainly reduced the number of 'fails'

"Well, Johnson, your "brrrrrrrrmmmmmm" noise is quite convincing, but Smith, your "dacka dacka dacka" needs a LOT of work."

Hi all ...

It looks like everyone has finally run out of ammo on this one !

So here are the runners-and-riders parading in the Winners Enclosure this week …

Joint 3rd Place & Bronze Medal Winners : Buster and NutLoose

Buster

Trials for the RAF's first UAV in 1939 were abandoned after a shortage of 20,000ft poles was discovered.
Nutloose

Following on from theatre tourists, senior officers devise a cunning scheme to qualify for the coveted Battle of Britain clasp.
2nd Place & Silver Medal Winner : ShyTorque

The session went tragically wrong when trainee gunner Simkins totally misunderstood the command: "In your own time - shoot the little Fokker"
1st Place & Gold Medal Winner : WhiteOvies

Close your eyes and run like hell, if you make it we give you your Wings!
There is also a special mention in dispatches for F3WMB for NOT mentioning or inciting others to use the 'B' word

Strap in chaps WhiteOvies to take control !

Best ...

Coff.

oops, I didn't mean that. I meant using F3WMB as a caption. The only thing I ever incite wrt the B-word is schadenfreude.

Time for a pre-photo caption...

Nutloose was confident it would eventually clear up with a course of anti biotics!
