Share price 25% down? This doesn't bode at all well for the shareholders in the company.
The report makes for some interesting reading, however I'm not entirely convinced that the points made in this report fully correspond to the report made in February. Basically, the question that I would like to ask is... How strong is the financial position of the company actually? I would like to know if what has been presented so far has been glossed over and "sexed up" a bit, and this is an actual reflection of the conditions? Or vice versa. I'm going to go through the report quite closely this evening, as I have bugger all else to do (for a welcome change!) |
Shares falling 22%, good for a take over?
|
Only if the Walker Family want to sell.....they still own the majority of the business. Would you sell a devalued asset if you didn't need to?
|
Shares falling 22%, good for a take over? |
Please NO!
|
Is this for real?
Hearing from a few extremly angry friends north of the border, that ur lot are openly by-passing seniority etc and replacing dash's with Bhx/Man crewed Embraers. Anybody care to shed any light on this? What's your company council doing about it? Another stake in the heart for you guys!!

Flybe | Corporate | Investors | Investors home - the graph tells it all.
This isn't viable anymore - some serious changes needed at flyby. Stupid of them buying all those new planes. |
Their route structure - they are continuing to serve under performing routes.
|
It's not just about making a profit - it's making the most of the available resources and achieving a balance to work for the shareholders and the customers
|
It's not just about making a profit - it's making the most of the available resources and achieving a balance to work for the shareholders and the customers It's a PLC and therefore only about the shareholders. Capitalism works as the shareholders interest normally aligns with that of the customers and LT business success. However shareholders are always top of the tree |
Investors in Flybe are not looking to make 'a quick buck' they are looking long term. Therefore the company MUST expand and expand lot's, at the moment Flybe has 35 jet's soon to arrive and no published plan....There's not even any rumours on any such plan which leads us all to believe that they DONT have one.
Ps Striking staff not good long or short term, Investors will soon be very angry with Mr R8 and his wealthy cronies |
Here you go, guys.....
'Some 10,000 workers will get a pay rise of around 10% over two years and some will get extra shift payments during the games, in the joint RMT-TSSA deal.' ...and I think thee was mention of a one-off payment of £500 to bide the poor dears over. Needless to say, not negotiated by BALPA but by dear old Mr Crowe, Boris's mate. |
From Business Travel Market Magazine:
After the euphoria of a London floatation at the end of last year, which saw £66m raised at an offer price of 295p, Flybe investors are now staring at a paper loss with the shares standing at 176p as the London Stock Exchange closed on Friday evening. Late last week the airline suggested that profits for the year until 31 March would be around £20m as against the previous 12 months’ £36m. Full figures will be available in June. The airline would not comment on rumours that it might dispose of some aircraft noting that all airlines are constantly re-assessing the number of aeroplanes required. The carrier is the leader in the UK domestic market with 27% of total passengers from which it derives 85% of its total income. To put matters in perspective IAG, owner of British Airways and Iberia, cut first-quarter losses by 83% to €47m (£42m) pre-tax. Shares stood at £254, a 16% increase since the beginning of the year. Flybe derives 85% of revenue from the UK and is trying to reduce its dependence on its home market by expanding further into continental Europe. |
It took a month since the ballot closed to get to deciding to use acas. Well done flybe, drawn it out a bit longer.......
|
The interesting thing about this stage is that ACAS is an arbitration process only, just because they say or suggest something doesnt mean it has to be accepted.
Additionally, Uncle Jim will have to justify how the pay offer to us is fair when the directors pay increased by the margin it did, and in a year of a supposed pay freeze. Remember, all employee groups accepted a pay freeze in 09 but the average company salary of some 3000 employees increased by 3%. We now have the best paid Directors in the industry, with bottom rung salaries for those on the front line. Such disparity is expected of a Mom and Pop operations, not Europes biggest regional carrier. This volatile mix and disgruntled workforce isn't working Jim. 45% drop in share price... Let's get this sorted and get back to the coal face. As an aside, if we kept our existing agreement on scheduling and simply divvied up the supposed "cost" of improvements between the flight deck we'd end up better off by well in excess of £2000 a piece. I think I know what I'd rather have! |
|
Arbitration through ACAS is a two-way thing. The company may want it but you (throught BALPA) are under no obligation to comply and unless yoour BALPA reps have already agreed to the comany's request to go to arbitration, you can politely tell them to stuff it.
Don't be bamboozled by your management. |
Word from BALPA is that it will be the conciliation aspect of ACAS, not arbitration.
|
It had better be. I was getting ready for my UDO's - Union days off!
If the upshot of this is that we're recommended the same old !!!! we were offered before the latest sexes up pack of lies came out I doubt anyone will vote in the upcoming CC elections. Lashings of hot spoilt ballot papers methinks. |
I'm seeing some weak attitudes from the CC over on the balpa forum, time for us to man up, the feeling of hatred, yes hatred from pilots towards Flybe is escalating. I've not spoken to a happy employee for months now...
Aer Lingus pilots ballot for industrial action - RT News |
I am so disappointed with the CC and with BALPA, it seems that BALPA can't/won't send in their negociating "big" boys to flight man against man, and our CC are putty in the managements hands. Men against boys, of course we know who will win!
|
Has anyone considered the CC are about to go in for the kill but playing there cards close to there chests? I presume to prevent confidential and sensitive ammo ending up on this very website???? :D
|
Burpot well said.
The CC members I have spoken to give exactly that impression, the conciliation meetings with ACAS are a formality, I hope for our managers sake they see the error of their ways and increase the offer. Nuff said. |
And not just in terms of pay and scheduling Bullet! (See below :E )
BBC News - German insurer Munich Re held orgy for salesmen |
Min requirements for FlyDubai 737 jobs now...
... First Officers - must have 2,500 hours total flying time, of which 1,000 hours must have been gained on modern (EFIS) multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes operating weight
Good luck to any Dash FO's who fancy cash, sand and flying a jet?! Also, good luck to Flybe keeping the crewing levels up. |
From the flydubai website: First Officers - approximately AED 38,700 per month = £6,500
|
Don't forget, that is 'all-in'... so your housing/bills/travel etc have to come out of that.
(still nice tho!) |
Can anyone give a clue what the living costs are like in Dubai?
Not interested in Flash Pads and flash cars, just a comfortable lifestyle! Out of that £6500 what can be stashed away! |
salsaboy
My housing/travel/bills etc and tax has to come out of £2,800 per month as a year 4 F/O. I'd say £6,500 p/m tax free? Is pretty bloody good if I may say so. |
I agree, it's much better than our salary... I was ensuring people didn't conclude the money is better than other middle eastern carriers who provide/pay for housing THEN give you a tax-free income!
Someone I spoke to who's been at FlyDubai for a while now prefers it this way as you get more choice where to live. It's not for everyone, but certainly sounds quite attractive. |
getting shafted
guys
for goodness sake .................. this thread is going the wrong way .Talking about other places to fly and the amount of money you can earn . Shame on everyone !! Go and talk about that elsewhere. People are leaving and ive heard 5 "E first officers " have handed in there notice and are going to gulf air. The company hinted on redundancies when responding to this dispute, and now are looking in the flybe holding pool for more pilots !! Who are gullible and who are now taking the p*ss . Its so obvious now what has to happen !!! |
Aware of a good 10 off to gulf and several others off to other pastures already. This before other uk doors open and the more that get e jet ratings the more saleable they will become!
I see the recruitment pages have been redone and those still interested have been asked to reapply. Yes we need to stand and fight for our lives, but I'm afraid the inevitable evacuation will occur once other doors open. Management know this and I reckon it's another reason why they refuse to pay proper industry rates and improve lifestyle. |
So much for redundancies, I see online recruitment has started up again - the flybe propaganda machine is crumbling!
|
It's starting to look like 2004/2005 all over again. Only now the directors are answerable to the shareholders - which incidentally includes a lot of us.
How long could we tolearate losing 10% of the workforce every month? How robust is our training system to process the new pilots required to make good this shortfall on top of recurrent training? How many flights can we operate without having to pair up N-rated Captains & FOs? How many CatII revals & max cosswind sim exercises will be dropped to shore up the creaking system? How many cancelled flights will that lead to this winter? And how many trainers will hang up their hats on the back of the workload required? Did the accountants even attempt to factor in the value of pilot goodwill before they gave the board their dubious sums? Looking doubtful. Who'll give me favourable odds of a substantial change to the make up of the board following our first AGM? |
All the wet leasing they had to get in. I think at one point we had four on the go at once..
|
When can we start bidding again?
|
Did the accountants even attempt to factor in the value of pilot goodwill before they gave the board their dubious sums? Looking doubtful. |
skint here 2 but not selling my soul!
everybody should do the same... I heard some F/Os off to Greece again, they are crazy the company is making loads of money off them. |
Yeah, running off to the sun to be treated like grown ups and collect extra allowances. They must need their heads looking at.
|
gearupsflapsupshutup You must also be CRAZY your based in the uk flying the dash for peanuts the company is expoliting you!
