I will issue an apology to Night_fr8 the day Torville & Dean skate Bollero on a frozen over Hell. And no JW411, it is not because I don't understand daft pilots, it is because I understand that someone tried to con advice out of me that was detrimental to my cause and he knew it. End of.

It now appears that you are a total fraud and are incapable of seeing when you are very wrong,

"Con advice out of you detrimental to your cause"

Horse **** !!!!

Where was the Con ?
What would have been detrimental to your cause ?

Would that cause have suffered from you pointing in a PRIVATE MESSAGE to where Night_Fr8 could find the information he sought ?
No instead you posted the message on an open forum because you could not find the IPF after a simple search.
Simple search = Simple mind (Cant find what your looking for so you must be right)

You have been proven wrong in this matter, so I suggest that you ask the senior member of your socialist familly for her permission to apologise !!!

Answer my questions ? or are you such a low life that you believe implicitly in you own superiority.

This forum is for proper aviation professionals and not some frustrated ex RAF "erk".

A shop steward from Manchester !!! I pity those that you represent as there can be no reason in your negotiations, only self gratification.
Your brand of unionism went out with Arthur Scargill and Red Robbo.

I suppose you think pilots are overpaid prima donna's as well !!

And Leo, I was going to say you and your nasty helpers remind me of Quislings.

Nothing more nothing less.

But I won't because you can't believe you're a pilot at all. Either way Lord_Haw_Haw just about sums you up.

Best regards, Barden

[Better paid, work less and massively better pension provision than any FR pilot - and not a BA pilot! Want to mess with my terms and conditions? Speak to the union. And yes, we did make a very respectable profit last year and will do so this year, and no, we haven't made a single pilot compulsorily redundant.Thank you BALPA.]

Barden - Very well put, you sum up my feelings of these self regarding, arrogant people entirely. Thank you and may your airline fare well.

Day_Dreamer - I will disregard the majority of your post as I have covered most it at length several times, if you dont want to read it that is up to you. However you wrote

I suppose you think pilots are overpaid prima donna's as well !!
Untrue. I do not think pilots are overpaid, the same holds true for other professionals within aviation, engineers, ATC, CC, etc. Every time I am flown somewhere I am thankful of the skills that have been employed in making my journey safe, it comes from being an ex-RAF "erk". What I do not think is conducive to my state of mind is to think that there is an underlying problem in those that fly me. Like smouldering resentment at T&Cs being unilaterally changed to the disadvantage of those who are flying. Even worse, they are forbidden to talk about it. That could be a distraction and it does not make for the creation of a happy nursery.
As for Prima Donna, it is not a case of 'If the cap fits' but more one of having it thrust upon you. Check your mirror.

Why are we so horrible to one another?
Because we have not yet experienced that thing called...Karma!

In 199X my major US airline closed it's doors leaving me, and many of my colleagues, on the street looking for work.

I stumbled across an opportunity in Alaska which would at least pay the bills. The only requirement being "...get yourself up here..."

Broke, I called around to various airlines to see about jump-seats. Incidentally, it so happened that I had an application in with a particular US based Express Cargo Airline.

I called that companys Jump-seat administration office and explained my predicament TRUTHFULLY AND COMPLETELY (Just out of work, new job on the horizon, etc) and then ASKED - with those circumstances - if there was any way they could help me out.

The admin told me that I would have to discuss this with the Chief Pilot. Having an application in with that company, I thought "Great, a chance to speak directly to the man in change".

She transfered the call and I again explained the circumstances. His response, quote "...if you expect me to put this companies AOC on the line for you, you are crazy. If I ever find you jump-seating on a XXXXXX airlines flight, I'll have you arrested..." End quote.

Keep in mind, previously, I explained the circumstances and simply "Asked" if there was any way he could help me.

What a prick! He could have simply said "no", but clearly, he had never experienced... Karma!

Enter two years later. The night before Christmas eve I'm a DC8 Captain loading up the old girl for a flight south. 3 pilots - Capt, FO and FE - coming running over looking (no begging) for jump-seats due their flight canceled over breakage.

The short story, I had more than three jump-seats available, but only two got used... Karma!

Incidently, the jump-seating F/O and F/E, had the same opinion of that guy that I had! Merry Christmas...jurk!

You have not at any time answered my questions.

Where was the Con ?
What would have been detrimental to your cause ?

Your ignorance in refusing to answer compounds the impression to others reading this site that you are in the wrong , on the hook and wriggling.
Your so called cause is not being furthered by your lack of explanation.
Maybe you don't really know what cause you are fighting for.

You remind me of the flat hatted scarf toting unionist in LHC's clip a dinosaur of a bygone age.

Oh I have checked my mirror, and my "6" is well protected as in the same way that I am covering Night_Fr8's "6".

Apologise to Night_Fr8 ! You know your in the wrong as do many reading this site.

Dear Captain Pprune,

Could we please have a new forum? It could be could called "Differences of Opinion"....that place where so-called professional pilots can while away their excessive free time insulting/ bitching/ slagging/ slinging muck/ and generally enjoying a surfeit of bile.

Those of us interested in T&Cs and possible employment would still go to "Terms and Endearment", whilst those fancying a bit of a scrap could go straight to the new forum.

Kind regards
Flyingstig

p.s. got a job mate?

From what I've seen during my brief experience here, that forum already exists. It's called Tech Log!

wanna know about T&C's, place simple questions and have simple answers?

I'll try to summarize briefly:

permanent contracts: Capt. 5500-6000 euros/month and senior F/O's about 3500-4000/month , virtually no benefits at all and you pay for everything.

BRK contracts: Capt. 5500/month and F/O's 3500 (paying taxes in Ireland mandatory), no benefits whatsoever.

Bare in mind that permanent contracts are not being offered anymore so the BRK ones are the only ones available.
Also consider the fact that each base has different T&C's for permanent contracts so the famous 5 ON 4 OFF system so much advertised by FR isn't available for the new bases.
There are also other details like reduced conditions and "enjoyable" base transfers for newly upgraded captains so if you were based somewhere on a 5/4 with a sector pay of X you might find yourself in a 5/3 base with a sector pay of X-Y from one day to the next.

Day Dream - Whilst I admire tenacity you are becoming tedious. I have answered several times and you chose to ignore it so you Pm'd me and I have answered. End of matter as far as I am concerned. Do not send any more PMs, if you wish to pursue this please do so without bothering me or I may consider it a form of harassment.

Danny

You forgot sector pay which currently has no tax (RYR contract Captains and F/O's)

BRK pilots on 800 hours per year (Prior to new hires) earn €5000 per month averaged over 12 months.
Many BRK pilots have their own tax situation under control, new hires must conform to Brookfields T & C's.

I was speaking to a few BRK pilots recently all had obtained tax relief on several items as they work on self employed tax status, and expect to pay between £3500-£5000 tax for past year, plus accountancy fees (Tax deductable)

Contract change yes, in all companies and base moves when promoted are common as the vacancies are not always at your current home base.

Be thankfull in this current economic climate that RYR are recruiting, more pilot lay offs are being announced weekly, Monarch, BA, Virgin.

Do you think an average of €60000 per annum is a poor salary, look at Flybe, DHL Air who pay between €28-32500 per annum, both plus flight pay, averaging €250-500 per month for 10.5 months the remainder is leave.

facts available for all who research adequately

Boys and Girls

Typical union tactics !!
"If you wish to pursue this please do so without bothering me or I may consider it a form of harassment."

Not able to win so resort to bullying.

Do you really want this sort of person to represent you via union membership.

The choice is yours ?

I rest my case on this matter

It really is a surprise that someone who, at the age of 58 and professional pilot demeans themselves to petty attacks on those who do not proscribe to your point of view.

al446

Likewise, with you support of the assertion. I did, for a second have the interpretation, from another thread, consider that an adult form of discussion could ensue.

It would be considered that adults can discuss a certain matter with different view points and consider the others perspective and will not always result in one party adjusting their view point to correspond to that of the other.

The rigid stance of not accepting another's perspective and slinging unfounded accusation at those who do not subscribe to your view point, right or wrong, is EXACTLY the reason for the distaste toward unions and the militant viewpoints of their supporters.

What you are doing is torpedoing your own argument. Such militancy is, in a commercial environment "suicide".

Danny, thank you for your response, i don't quite know how it relates to anything, best you save your future outpourings for your houseplants.

You forgot sector pay which currently has no tax (RYR contract Captains and F/O's)
And you forgot to say that Irish tax has increased eroding therefore net incomes and also forgot to mention that permanent contracts are no longer offered so from now on we can only talk BRK.

BRK pilots on 800 hours per year (Prior to new hires) earn €5000 per month averaged over 12 months.
Many BRK pilots have their own tax situation under control, new hires must conform to Brookfields T & C's.

5000 euros a month for a Capt. is a poor salary, especially if on top of that you've gotta pay an accountant (3% of income for those suggested by BRK) health insurance, pension, loss of licence, hotels and transport for sim, your medical, your uniform, your car park, your ID and so on.

Be thankfull in this current economic climate that RYR are recruiting, more pilot lay offs are being announced weekly, Monarch, BA, Virgin.
I would be thankful if the company was also thankful to their employees, especially when announcing the usual massive gains of which we don't see a single penny...or we actually see even less than previously I should say.
