Flybeeeeee: This particular rasher's been watching this forums avidly as i'm sure others have been, but keeping quiet as a. I haven't been at Connect long enough to really know what I'm about to lose and b. I take people/employers as I find them rather than hearsay (with a notable Irish exception ). I'm therefore looking forward to just getting on with it, hopefully everyone putting all this behind us and getting on with making a real go of the new Flybe.
I'm sure I can't be the only one. I'm really looking forward to working with you all.

"Airmail" issued 1840 this evening

"A decision has just been taken to delay completion of the sale of BA Connect to Flybe. This has been taken as clearance has not yet been given by the Pension Regulators. Completion is expected within a few days"

Signed by DE

The BRS Dispatchers were also talking about text messages to you drivers earlier today. Don't have the exact words, but the implication was that the deal had been signed yesterday.

Difficult to see how both the text message and the comm above can be accurate.

This just goes to highlight the ineptitude of both sides in this deal ! At the moment the employees do not know who owns the company - is it BA ? is it FlyBe ? who knows, in fact who cares now ........

good luck to all who remain.........

Groundbunnie - it was the pilots scheduling agreement that was signed yesterday.

flybeeee.. are you living in the real world, or are you IC in disguise? EVERYONE I know working for flybe are getting absolutely p!ssed off with constant roster changes, threatening phonecalls if they don't toe the company line, if someone voices the opinion that the want to leave and give their resignation, they are threatened with legal action if the 3 months notice they give does not begin at 1st of the month, if they decide after the threat that they will rescind their decision, they get dropped to the bottom of the seniority list, and any promised promotions/jet positions are removed, etc etc etc!

Perhaps the Devon air is clouding your judgement... if it wasn't as bad as everyone else makes out, then flybe would not be suffering from such dire crew shortages! They wouldn't need to plaster adverts all over airports begging for crews, encase Flight International in an advertising bag, have multiple adverts on the flybe sales website offering jobs, be offering bounties to existing crews to fool friends into joining, have handouts included in local news rags offering jobs, etc etc etc!!!!

It smacks just a little of desperation.

Open your eyes Ian or Jim or whoever you really are!

I see from fob 01/07 from BA Cityflier dated 28/02/07 that Leon Mitchell is to be the crewing executive based in Didsbury - Another blow to flybe!

Good luck Leon - you will need it!

Yet another negative post from Rhythym Method. How many pilots do you actually know at flyBE? 1? 2?

Why don't you wind ya neck in and start concentrating on an effective form of contraception!!!

Madeofmoney, I would say I know about a dozen pilots.. ok it may not be the majority of the workforce, but it gives at least a flavour of the situation, and all those examples I have quoted are genuine. I know the truth hurts, but get your head out of the sand!

As regards negativity, I have said all along that I hope the deal works BECAUSE I know so many friends involved in BOTH companies, and I don't want to see them scrambling around looking for new employment. I care about more than myself!

If I hadn't escaped the shambles that BACON had become, I would have been prayng for success from flybe as it did offer one of the lifestyle issues I was looking for... but it would have been a very fine line weighing up the balance between the pros and cons.

Constructive posting is much more beneficial than a glib moronic reply... try it some time.

Remoak.... If Rythm Method is the 'oracle' that you say he is, try reading the last line of his last post again.

I'm sick and tired of the constant PPrune bashing that we at Flybe get every day.

As I've said on another thread I am very happy here and have no wish to go elsewhere.

I'm bored of reading the posts of former employees (who's PPrune identities I know ) constantly knocking all our efforts to make a success out of an airline that gave them their very first chance in an airline career.
If the deal goes through today, tomorrow, next month, then welcome to our new colleagues.

I'm looking forward to working with you and contributing to the future success of our new company.

I agree Fullback. Flybe in their dealings with BACON have come across as more open and honest and downearth , unfortunately I can not say the same for our Bacon Management Team, who seem to have disappeared into holes, and unable to help the general staff during this period of immense change and disruption. We are lucky to have the choice.

Fullback, your statement that Flybe gave many pilots their first job in a flying career sums up some guys frustrations.after many years climbing the ladder,be it a small and rikkety one at Bacon and all it's fragmented mish mash of similar backwater operations.it is somewhat frustrating to be once again faced with the prospect of flying turboprops, for what is still obviously,an airline that offers the first job for guys straight out of flying school.not that their is anything wrong with that operator for offering that first golden opportunity, but you must agree, not the first choice for guys with several thousand hours on a jet,be it a lightweight barbie.

OK then...

It is a pity that you can't understand that telling the truth is, in fact, constructive.

One of the single biggest issues facing crews in flybe is roster turbulence and constant disruption. it doesn't happen in every base, but it certainly happens. Maybe you are just lucky.

More to the point, bringing this to the attention of others is not "constantly knocking all our efforts to make a success out of an airline that gave them their very first chance in an airline career". In many ways, it is a sign of success - rapid growth that the Ops and Crewing bods have not quite caught up with yet. So wind you neck in.

You can go back to your sycophantic banter now...

Remoak/Rythmn Method,

a polite posting from me...........

I have worked for Flybe for several years and I REALLY LIKE THE COMPANY! Thats "telling the truth" as a "current pilot" (unlike you) sees it!!

There are now several pilots from Flybe on this thread stating that they like the company, you don't work for Flybe, so please wind your neck in.

Thank you.

Oh, just a thought; IC is well liked amongst a lot of current pilots (me included). He has received an unfair battering on this thread.
A lot of CURRENT FLYBE pilots (not anonymous bystanders) like him - he's a good guy.

flyingbug

May I remind you of some of your earlier posts, on this and other threads:

The T&Cs have not been great this summer, to be frank we have had a disrupted summer at times;
do not be surprised over the next month, pilots will be voting with their feet. T&Cs have been eroded through poor planning and the constant desire to work crews to the max of FTL (not a problem to those in ops or management)
Well, you do seem to have changed your tune somewhat. Please make your mind up.

In my time at flybe (several years), I really liked the company. I still do. So you were wrong about that, as well.

However, it doesn't matter how much you or I like the company... the truth is that there are some problems. You can stick your head in the sand if you want, but I'd rather be clear about what is happening.

If I needed another flying job, flybe would be high on the list - but I would expect to be messed about. Comes with the territory.
