The Pawan Hans Deal - Incredibly Steep!
How ?

Is it because one has to sponsor the Complete training by self ?

Thanks.

You have to pay for your CHPL training which will be in the 20-25 lac region. Then you sign a 25 lac conversion training agreement, which you pay off during 10 years. Add this to what you've already paid for your CPL (A). And they don't pay you anything till you complete your CHPL.

Sweet deal?

Can u believe that! Daymn OPEN EXPLOITATION!

hahaha.. lol. why the hell do they even want a daymn CPL(A) if the whole training has to be done from the scratch!

If id do my CHPL self sponsored why'd i sing a daymn bond for 10 years, CHPL has a good market right now and id join a better company.

I rilly think whosoever has shetloads of money will b in it.

I wonder how'd the SC/ST OBC's manage the funding! They actually have reservations in this deal too .., haha.. the funniest!

PARAMOUNT Part 2! This ones even bigger - 25+25! + 10 YEars Bond.

Does anyone know about this , that if ur a CPL holder or higher , den for obtaining a CHPL licence u need to fly a mere 30-50 hrs only.

I have been looking for that regulation in proper words for a long time, could not find it, but i was told about this by my FAA flight instructor. want to know the same analogous criteria in India too.. Pls Help.

@ ssietbunny,
Please No SMS talk. The post loses its credibility.

A holder of Commercial Pilot’s License on Aeroplane (CPL) or higher licence (ATPL) who has not less than 500 hrs of flight time as Pilot in Command (PIC) on aeroplanes, will need 30 hrs of flight time on helicopter, to qualify for Commercial Pilot Licence on helicopters. A holder of CPL who has satisfactorily completed not less than 300 hrs of flight time as PIC on Aeroplane shall require to complete not less than 20 hrs of flight time on helicopter to qualify for Private Pilot Licence on helicopters.

Source : HAL ROTARY WING ACADEMY
http://dgca.nic.in/schedules/section-k.pdf

From the above information (the only one I have found so far), For a CPL holder with 200 Hours, there is No relaxation. That means 150 Hours of Training on the Heli @ atleast 30,000 INR = Rs.45,00,000.

Am I right or Just got it all Wrong ?

@silent
thanks.

45 lacs seems true to me.May be that is the reason why so many Helicopter Pilots in aviaton field are from defence forces only. too expensive. And that too with thousands of hours when they plan to step into commercial flying.

Alternative. For a person having 150 hrs PIC on aircraft.

Fly 350 hrs PIC in US @ 120$ (= 6000INR approx) = 21 lacs

Fly 30 hrs on Helicopter @ 30000 INR = 9 lacs

TOTAL =30 Lacs plus inc miscellaneous 5 lacs = 35 lacs . still expensive.

Pawan Hans is a well performing PSU. still dont understand their logic behind their induction of CPL(A) for helicopters.

The fact that we (read CPL-A holders) are researching into the Pawan Hans deal shows that we are interested , Answer's your Question.

And Pawan Hans is going to help secure a Bank Loan of 7.5 Lacs. So rest of the Training Cost is either Cash or Loan against Mortgage.

Regards.

@ Optimus Prime and Fixed Reserve,

I agree it is not exactly a Sweet Deal. But atleast it is Guaranteed that you will be flying an Airplane / Helicopter.

If spending 20 - 30 Lacs in Typerating + Bribing your way into the Airline is your Idea of sweet deal, then I will not argue.

But I will mention that the Airlines do not even talk to you after you pay the 25 + Lacs.

Current Example - Kingfisher Airlines, which has 100 + Type rated ATR and Airbus Pilots grounded. And many out of them have paid for the type rating themselves.

Also not to forget that Paramount Airways has 15 Trainees who have Paid around 25 Lacs more than a Year back and not even type rated yet.

But wait, Paramount has just One airplane left. (Todays News that DGCA has banned Paramount from flying 3 of its Airplanes for which it has not paid the Lease for some time not and the Leasing Company went to Court 2 months Back).

So No offense. Please take your Pick.

HAL academy offers CHPL. Estimated completion time through them is 20-24 months as quoted in their website.. Usually, the figures quoted in websites are rather optimistic. The hire rate for the most basic trainer is 30,000. So the minimum cost to you, if you complete your training in 150hrs, is 45 lacs. Add 25 lacs to that for the type conversion training. That makes 70 lacs.

that is a big number.

Now have a look at what they pay you. Subtract from that payments on the 45 lac CHPL training loan, previous 20 lac CPL (A) loan, and 25 Lac Type conversion repayments. You will find that it works out to be a negative number.

good luck.

There you Go. Another Rip Off Deal.

How does one decide if what "stone_crusher" here has on offer is something legitimate?
They will give you all the documentation, Visa and assurances. And after you Land in Philippines, what if you are abandoned. You are going to expect Justice or Legal help there ?

this is one of the offers going on in philipines.......
And can not overlook the fact that Philippines has Two P's and not one.
Also this is just one of the deals. There are a lot more to eat all your Money.

Go Ahead and send him a PM.
