As for jetzup's link reg. Rudy - Simcenter-a320 Type....

I know of a couple of people who've made their foray into Politics (after CPL) owing to the bone-dry AvJob market! Never knew it was vice- versa too!

Seems like the grass is just as tall/green on the other side!

i guess the foray from politics to an a 320 type rating can be a bit easier when you[ politicians] have tons of [i feel like generalising] "tax payers money" to facilitate the transition

Pawan Hans deal-Making it affordable

Here's the deal,
For a fresher CPL, getting a CHPL would be exorbitant unless he has 500 hours as PIC....If he does, 30 hours on a heli should suffice...
...
So, the priority would be to increase PIC hours from 150(average CPL holder) to 500..

350 hours....80$/hour for C-152...
It would cost you around 11.5 lakhs...
The 30 hours on heli would cost you 5 lakhs more...
Total cost - 16 lakhs...

Now, isn't that more affordable? (I havn't included the type rating)

@ Rohit,

What was the reason for the redundancy ?

Tata is asking for a B200 rating. If you can sponsor the Type rating, may be they will take you.

All the Best.

@rohit bakshi

hmm..interseting. Hav'nt heard of spice jet or any other airline asking F/O's with 1000 hrs to leave. Wonder what the reason was?? I'm guessing its not becasue of cost cutting or anything like that becasue spicejet has been hiering a lot of their cadets (fresh CPL holders) lately.

Not sure about the Air india.. but i guess they wont.. cause.. hell u know the reson

and abt jet airways, even i was told that they are goin to hire ppl cause they got some planes back which they had earlier given on lease. i have some real credible inside source in the company, which tell's me that they already have 50 pilots on hold. so unless jet airways buy some 5-6 planes, they dont need pilots. no atleast 6 more months..

I heard that AI/IC will be coming out with an ad sometime during Feb/March, can't confirm, but I've got to know about it from a pretty reliable source.

AI/IC got its 75 cadets(recruited 2007,science and engg grads scheme) and 42 TPs (inducted early this year) in waiting already.but heard vacancies to be larger than above said numbers in total.so equal chances.

Are the 2007 Cadets Online?

Is this another conspiracy to make money like the last one in Early 2008!??

Looks like. AI is dying. Its not even getting half the numbers in the International Sector. (Source: DGCA Statistics) I dunnow how the hell are they gonna sponsor so many type ratings + Stipends + Classes!!

Any inputs??

I second what GuitarBoy said above!

AI/IC Ad anytime soon would be as surprising as Fire on Pluto!
