With over forty aircraft per hour arriving at the stacks and barely thirty per hour landing, delays soon go through...

The missed approaches don't 'separate' , but do at least segregate the traffic. They were changed after a 1997 airprox very similar to the incident in the programme.

I prefer the odds of a 'mainline' carrier actually operating the service and on time. It doesn't matter how much you save if the flight is cancelled at the last minute.

Seems a bit silly for the SID to turn onto the DET radial anyway. It doesn't help you 'jump' the BIG stack and as for noise, the DVR and CLN sids go straight ahead.

When you do report a tcas manouver to ATC don't forget your callsign ! There is nothing worse on a busy frequency than a disembodied voice calling "WE'VE got tcas, descending"

Apparently, they were so short staffed on Saturday morning, they had to get a gatwick controller in to do the 6-7 hour. Maybe that was why they landed 50 ?;)
