It seems unusual that even if they were INOP, the Dash 8 would simply proceed on to the runway and line up...

Does anyone know the logisitcs for the engine replacement? Did they swap in a couple of engines from something already in maintenance or have they had to obtain two new/used replacements ?

They put boards down infront of it and 3 HGV...

They put boards down infront of it and 3 HGV recovery trucks pulled it out of the mud on to the boards then on to the runway and then a tug took it away.

Does anyone know what aircraft is operating todays TOM643 AYT-LGW service? Due in at 5:45pm, but it's delayed leaving Turkey, I just wondered if the aircraft has actually arrived in Turkey yet.

New estimated time of departure is 21:50 local time tonight, so a 38 hour delay if it gets away as estimated. I guess they could spend the day plane spotting at Heathrow before they get bussed back...

They are checked in, albeit sat 5 rows apart, but that's a non issue. Looks like the Cape Verde flight will get away tonight and they can start their holiday 4 days late.
