OK, but what's with the locks. If a lady passenger "fell" over a fence, it might cost the council more than $2g.

Wait/ Weight

I'm sure your right but I'm talking about the people in the a/c. Does that work for them? I'm thinking about the astronauts free falling in a jet nosing over, or astronauts in orbit, speed constant...

One G ?

Lyman, this one G thing confuses me. One G is what you get when your NOT falling, ie what the bus uses to fly level I've read, and what you'd feel on your bum. I'd have thought that falling at...

No I don't think he is. I would think crab angle is when you are wings level
and due to a crosswind you have to have your nose into wind to track in line with the runway.

Re. Photofly, and bits falling off at vne, the Victa Airtourer (115 anyway)

Beats me.

I sprayed a bit in a VH-PEG , don't know where she is now. With a load on she had a habit of not wanting to climb off a crop just to get over some trees.

I'll bite, if it had a geared engine why did the prop sound as if it was doing 3000 rpm going down hill. Also there is/was one displayed on a pole out side some N.S.W. country town. Maybe in Mill...

Well, sometimes starters don't work, and some planes don't have 'em.
I was never worried about winding a prop, and if you listen hard enough you may hear a "hiss" from that nasty crack in the cyl....

I was taught to clear the cyl by winding backwards from the front, prime it with fuel by winding it forward from the front, and then go to the back to start it. Presumably the handy front cockpit...

Confusion?

Two blades for every cyl to do a compression stroke? But one blade gives at least a top dead centre with an exhause valve open?

Anyway, first up a chief pilot told me to wind a Jacobs backwards...

A strange intro to the tiger

Well I decided to fly the club tiger in 1964 or 5. This confirmed my reputation as a pain in the butt student.

We were never allowed to use the slats for landing, because it would "land too...

I would reckon the 450HP Ag-cat, and the Cessna Ag-Wagon have a lot of toe-in. Both tend to "skip" when landing on sealed runways. IE the spring steel undercarrage comes in and then springs back out....

I've seen some awful diagrams of the aircrafts supposed position during barrel rolls. Henry's isn't so bad but I don't think many underpowered trainers could start from "A" without falling out at...

Many may not notice on the flypast of the tree(s), the skiding effect.
If you think your going to knock a nav light off, the rudder nearest to the tree is stood on which skids one out to the side...

I'll be glad when it's over. Madness to fly low level over the city, and silly to waste all that fuel just to entertain the masses. A few more fireworks would do them. How safe is it? A few...

A good lesson for doing a good pre-flight. Start even before you get to the a/c. Does it look ship shape? (Maybe the refuel truck backed into it)
Then the close look, for cracks in the prop. etc....

Odd bits

You fellers are tough that's for sure. This poor joker on his first go in these old clunkers was sure to get a few strange "feelings". I guess a lot of a/c will mostly yaw using only ailerons, so...

Air checks.

Up to twin commuters, I've never seen an obvious checklist, except one A/c had a row of tabs mounted in line of sight on top of the panel. Flick 'em one way for T.O. and back again before landing.

Just a minute. "under no circumstances" is a bit much.
For starters, the PW 985 (450hp) kept blowing heads of at red line MP.
The cure was never over 35", and 30" at lift off.
