Based on the Great circle figures it is a benefit of around 70NM over Shannon.

The Landing and Nav Charges at BAA Scottish Airports are as follows -

Landing - (Min charge in each case £24)

ABZ - £4.63 per MT (for 1st 25 MT) , £5.15 per MT thereafter

I would have thought they were completely different markets. FR is already operates from "neighbouring" airports, PIK/EDI, MAN/LBA, STN/LTN

So if they can see a market in Belfast they are unlikely...
