Air Omega UK?
Hi there,
heard a rumour about a start-up in Prestwick, Air Omega UK.
They obviously want to start with EMB-145 and BAe-146...
The shareholder is the same guy of just busted Air Omega in Germany (EMB-120 freighter operator)

Don't know really, just heard the rumour that they've lost their AOC, but got it back and have now no money for the necessary maintenance. Obviously they own lots of people lots of money, but again, just a rumour

I don't think this has got anything to do with Air Omega mbH but rather the acquisition of Directflight by Stapleton-based Aeromega Helicopters and the associated rebranding under the Aeromega name.
Directflight has had a long association with Prestwick operating the Cessna 406 turboprop version on behalf of the Scottish Fisheries Protection Service. I believe a similar contract also exists with the English Fisheries Protection Agency flying out of Exeter.
I also believe the company will operate a BAe 146 aircraft to carry out weather research in association with BAe Systems.
Would also be interested to hear about any plans for more extensive operations out of Prestwick, if anyone knows more......

Air Omega Uk is a subsiduary company of Air Omega - Germany.
Air Omega HAVE NOT gone bust - far from it.
We have a German AOC and will operate under this for the time being.
We are opening a base in PIK in the next few weeks and will be operating scheduled services throughout the UK, with E120's (passenger and freight), BAe 146 -100 and BAe 146 - 200.
Chief T - A/c currently in maintence.
Hope this answers all questions

PIK
5150:
So you are connected with Air Omega? I assume that because you're sayin' "We have...."
BAe 146-100/-200, aren't they a bit costly with its 4 engines?
Just for avoiding misunderstandings: There will be to Air Omega, one in Germany and one in the UK? Sound like a big deal for the investors!

Just for the record:
Air Omega's AOC was withdrawn by the LBA on July 25, 2003, resulting in the two E120s being grounded at CGN and CVT.
When Air Omega Air UK made their plans public to start pax services, Air Omega GmbH was quite keen to stress that is has no links whatsoever with Air Omega UK, the only exception being that the main investor into Air Omega UK also had/has shares in Air Omega GmbH.

Can I put up a wish list ?
Prestwick to Chivenor ?????
and ........ how about day trips to airshows such as the IAT and Farnborough........ I am sure you could get a EMB120 filled with people in the trade, enthusiasts etc....
There is a fair bit of talk local to Chivenor ( My folks live very close... my source ).... that Chivenor is being touted for some civilian flights as it has a nice long runway, its under used etc etc.....
Just a suggestion...........

Michael O`leary thinks he owns the dam airport. He will not decide whether Omega come to PIK or not.It is up to Tom Wilson(MD).
I think tom will know that if Air Omega want to serve near the London area, that he will warn them of Ryanair and what they can do.But if they want to operate up central,Northern England,What is the problem?

If Belfast is to be considered, it really should be to BHD not BFS, that is unless they fancy being crushed by Easyjet! In any event, BHD is much more convenient for the majority of people.
