The biggest problem with the A380 at Qantas is that there are only 4 of them. If one goes U/S the other 3 are likely at opposite ends of the earth, and all of a sudden you have cut the fleet by 25%....

Nothing has changed in stage 2. They are going really quickly with the process. Notification of a confirmed stage 3 date with as little as 9 days notice.

Been a while since ive flown a tiger but a climb speed of sixty knots and a cruise of 75 rings a bell. These are quite different to the cessna 172/warrior speeds. :confused:

The 45 degree rule will still give you different size circuits depending on conditions. The size will be dependent on the upwind climb performance. Perhaps using a landmark would be the way to go.
