Qantas calls

Just curious as to who has been getting called up for recent courses. Has anyone who has been through stage 2 this year had a call for a start yet, or has it only been people who were on hold?

I was interviewed in what I think was week 2 of the current round of interviews. (A guess) Today I received a "progress to the next stage" letter. (OPG and Criminal History Check and refrence check is the next stage) I know of others in the same situation.

Congrats Av Must be a nice feeling to have that out of the way.
Just curious, how long since you did the psychometric section of the interview process?
Cheers

Thanks RJ, yeah it is a bit of a relief. Its a weird limbo feeling after finishing the interview, knowing its all out of your hands but not knowing how you went. To answer your question I did Psych on the late Feb so things are moving fast!

Guys/Gals,

Seem to remember reading a few posts re: Preferences for basings ie Melb or Syd but can't find it now.

Has anyone got a letter asking for such and if so did you send the whole application in again or just that page of the app?

Cheers

Qantas calls

Guys
How soon after the interview/sim/medical did you receive the letter?

I have been waiting 5 weeks and heard nothing. I called them after 3 and was told "you will hear in a week".....

Is this a good sign? Are they always like this?

Billacabella, took 5 weeks for me to get a letter after sim/interview.

FFG 02, I believe that they ask you when they phone to offer a position if you would prefer Sydney or Melbourne.

I finally got my letter yesterday and what a great feeling it was to see progress to the final stage...but that only lasted for about 15mins before you start thinking about stage 4 and all the insecurities start creeping in again...so my q to anyone who has gone before us guys at this stage of the game is what are they looking for and what sort of history would you have to have for them to end your dreams so to speak.......

Be honest and don't lie. If you don't know something they ask, say so, otherwise you'll dig your grave.

I know the feeling happy driver, i received progress to stage four letter 6.5 weeks after the interview. Stage 4 shouldn't be a problem unless you've been charged with violence in some form or another and even then it really depends how long ago that incident was and what it was.

Congrats, when did they say your application will progress further.

Got the call from Qantas today, advising me that I have a start in Sydney on 2 June 04.

One of the best days of my life.

Good luck in the future to all other hopefuls

Fat Albert...

Congratulations to you, I cannot begin to imagine how you must have felt when you received the call up. How long have you been in the system? Did you start the process this year? Thanks in advance.

I submitted my application in Jan 03, completing the initial testing in Feb/Mar 03.
With SARS applications stopped, but I was lucky to complete sim/interviews/medical in June, probably one of the last groups to do it in 2003.

In mid Feb 04 I received the basing letter and request for criminal history/dental. In mid March my references were checked. From then it was a nervous wait until this week when I got the call.

The relief is wonderful.

I hope that gives an idea of the time frame.
