ADA hireing

ADA are at the moment hireing ..... particularly if you speak Spanish!
You will however HAVE to work in IRAN ('cos nobody else wants to go there).
Again you will need an ATPL I/R and a sense of humour, and plenty of patience!

.... I think this week the embargo on employing Aussies and Kiwi's is suspended???? Don't know about next week though!

Good luck
Hi Spinwing
I'm from Spain thinking on woking in the U.A.E. and I was wondering why you said ADA will hire if you speak Spanish , and also if the only chance to work is in IRAN if you get the job .
Thanks in Advance

Spinney being sarcastic.....never! He's been in the Gulf off and on since the late '70's and definately has his fingers on the pulse. However, ADA do have a number of VFR pilots working in Iran. Ex long-line Yemen drivers without any IR or even night ratings, dangerous work out there at night with an Iranian co-pilot sharing the duties. An accident waiting to happen....24 hour duty days for weeks on end! I guess it comes back to "supply and demand" at the end of the day. Oh yeah, one more thing from ADA, the latest attempt to give their pilots a pay rise was turned down yet again by the 3rd floor. Too bad, but their management has to make up the "Missing Millions" one way or the other.

That's not going to help their rumoured shortage of over 40 pilots any.....

A mate of mine is interested in working for Gulf. What does a 412 captain and co-pilot fetch these days
Usually....the baggage!

I believe an attempt was made yesterday, to break the "ADA quickest resignation" record.

Unfortunately the record attempt (which I believe is about 6 hours and held by a New Zealander) failed by mere hours when the new hire (a Gentleman of Colombian persuasion) was unable to get out of the ADA compound quickly enough and find a suitable person to tender said resignation too!

Oh well ..... better luck next time eh!

Cheers

Spinwing,
The Colombian may have set the record, however it was not a kiwi one he broke. the NZer in question was there for 2 days left because of promises he learnt were not to be delivered. i remember it well, and spin, you werent at ADA then. Close but no cigar. The swiss gentleman, you may remember, lasted the induction, medical, and left prior to logbook inspection all in the same day. That was late 2004. Thought you may have known that one S or are you not catching everything at ADA?

Snoop ADA Pay rise and Stuff

So I hear a rumour that ADA management has approved a 10% payrise.

Hasn't stopped the boys from departing though. The exodus continues apparently.

However managment seems to be solving this by hiring some local boys straight out of flight school. Or so rumour has it...

Nice!

The plot thickens - "As the Rotor Turns"

Quick resignation ADA

While at ADA in mid to late 2003 a Gentleman stepped from a taxi into the bar (van8 I think)had a quick look round said "I'm not staying in this s*%# hole!" got back into the taxi and left ,he was there less than 10 min and we at the bar did not even have time to assertain if he was a pilot or engineer! That was quick!

So just how many, many years has the ADA 10% pay rise rumor been circulating now? Even more than the news of the move to the fantastic new housing (including those from all the people who have even seen the plans of it ). The fact remains that 10% of next to nothing is still next to nothing

Mmmmmm....

And that 10% raise is another of those "sharp pencil" jobs the boys upstairs are so good at ...... its only on the "basic" part of salary so effectively will only really be 8 1/2 %+ by the time if it gets to your pocket.

Don't think it will make any difference in stopping the rot!

ADA

So is it True ADA are employing out of Horizons flight school? So do they expect to use them in the likes of Zakum field, or will they end up in Iran on ADAs 212s?
Its such a shame that the expats holding the CP and Contract managers positions dont have the balls to tell the real management ie the sandal wearers, to look at the sad fact that ADA has become a very poor company professionally and my heart goes out to the exatriate pilots who are somehow holding that worthless outfit together. ADA has had some extremely good pilots and engineers come and go. The good ones that are left are becoming rare, how long before an under cooked 3rd world pilot really does some damage, once the skilled people become spread too thinly?
Come on John Hanley, wake up and smell the coffee, what you are allowing to happen could be far more important to someones family than what the sandal wearers are putting in your pocket.

If you think that anyone at ADA gets a position of authority because they are willing to speak up to managment, you dont understand ADA. The CP is not appointed based on his capabilities, but on his ability to toe the company line.

What happened to Moh'd Al Rahoomi? Is the intrepid Fadhel the new Ops. Manager? Is george tucker still in the picture? Don't blame John Hanley for the deterioration at ADA. It's the system and nothing will ever change at ADA. The boys will always wear a dish-dash, be it on a camel or in a merc. Sad to read the letters. ADA was once a 5 * operation.

Tribal ...

Sorry ol darling... I was there at the time of the KIWI record holders arrival/departure (his initials M.L.) ... and in fact I "called it" ahead of time ... when I was told of his immenent arrival (he arrived and resigned on the same day) ....perhaps we all confuse the (attempted) record holder(s) (?) with someone else .... mind you that IS very understandable as there have been so many attempts !!!!!

Cheers

If you were there Spin, you would have been very new to ADA at the time. I didnt realise you had started when Mike was still the Contracts manager. As far as I know Mohammed is still ops manager.....but does anyone know what he does? George Tucker was given a sideways shift some time back. The CP I think is responsible for the demise of the training department, which was the only department which was operating well. The contracts is run by a wobbly head named Chandra, who pretty much loves telling pilots, people of twice his calibre, what to do. Oh he does have a boss , the contracts manager, Jack, a man with small mans syndrome in a big way.Of course the department which does run efficiently there isnt a department at all, Its the pilots, the good ones that are left, who are holding their end up and making guys like Lunn and Hanley look a lot better than they are.

So JL is still there along with Chandra - things really have not improved. Does Jack still like to drive a Caddie-lack and make sure everybody knows it? Out in Nigeria now are many pilots who were either sh*tcanned by Jack and his cronies or quit. Even with all its (very) many troubles, Nigeria is still probably a safer place to work than ADA (half-joking of course - there's more risk of being kidnapped, but less of being stabbed in the back by one of your bosses or co-workers )
So what is George doing now?
Enjoy the big pay rise, which will doubtless be tied in with the move to the new housing estate. Actually it'll probably be more like....... sorry no pay rise this year, because nothing is left after buying land for the new accomodation..... or.......... sorry no new accomodation this year because we plan a huge increase of 2.37561% on basic

Yarba,
No, Jack now has a Bright Yellow corvette to match his bling bling. Its great really, for when he does go to van 7 it acts as a stay away beacon, then you have no need to listen to war stories on how tough he is.
the canadian war of the dwarfs or something.
