Very well done to all those who were offered places. Can only imagine how it feels right now!
I was one of the unfortunate ones, the email hit hard when I read it 01.40am this morning.
Disappointed to say the least.
Did any of the successful candidates on here have any prior flying experience, PPL for example?

Skyborne and also got the rejection. I've booked in a feedback call for the 26th so it will be interesting to hear where I came short.
When do applications open again, I can see 2025 noted on the website but April again, or perhaps earlier?
Those with offers, do you have a start date and company mentioned (Mainline, Euroflyer, Cityflyer)?

I also hold a PPL and was unsuccessful. 👎🏻. Not sure I can afford the next intake, cost me £5k flying back from Australia, accomodation etc. Waiting a month for the final round too. Risk to reward seemed viable. Not so much now!

Damn, that's a hefty amount. I think I'm around £2.5 to £3k in the hole now. I travelled from a lot closer than Australia but with flights, accommodation and having take time off work it added up pretty quickly. More than worth it if given the nod but it does add another factor to it all when feeling disheartened like this.

It sure does! We’re not talking small money! Sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you too! I couldn’t have done anymore than I did. For whatever reason we weren’t successful, we will for now have to wait and see what they say.

Advice for future applicants
Congrats to all those who got a place and commiserations to the unlucky ones who got soooo close. I have been following this thread with my 17 yr old son in mind who plans to apply for the next round. What are your top tips for him, now it’s all over for you but still fresh in your minds?

Please note - I didn't apply, although its a dream to fly, I have a career and young kids now, I couldn't take the time off work unfortunately (and then be based near London). Over 15 years ago since I first posted on these forums...wow.

Well done to those successful and a very unlucky to those that got so far. A general query, may I ask anyone who didn't make it what your age is please? I see Sierra your profile says 37 (I'm a few years older at 40). I always assumed my age would be a factor, I appreciate not on paper but it's good to see someone of 37 make it.

Yep I'm 37, will be 38 later this year and as it happens, I'll probably be spending my 40th birthday in Jerez (note to anyone who'll be there...I want a party
I have heard of one or two who are also older than me so definitely don't rule it out due to your age!
In relation to the kiddies - I have 2 young kids and the guilt is real! However...I have a great support network and my husband's work allows for some flexibility from him thankfully! I'm under no illusions about just how hard this is going to be but I'm all in and my kids are super excited for mummy to be a pilot

This is my first message on the forum, however i’ve been reading it since the beginning of the first speedbird application. Last year i applied and made it to the in person skybourne interviews at the age of 17, however sadly i didn’t make it any further. I was completing my a levels through this time and i knew that a pilot is want i wanted to become, so i didn’t let this stop me and it made me even more determined. So i reapplied this year with skybourne again and have made it onto the program this time around ( i’m 18 now, so it really shows that age is no barrier ). I have been given a start date of July. I was just wondering for the other candidates who have been accepted is there anything anyone is doing before we start in preparation or are you waiting to find out more from the webinar? And finally for anyone who is reading the forum looking for advice for applying next year then my biggest piece of advice would be to make sure you do your research and understand what a pilots role is and that your interview examples are relevant to the role of a pilot.
