But it was a fun day, and a really proud moment, just wishing with every part of me that I did enough to make it.
Good luck to all, and I hope you are coping with the wait better than I am

Same here, been over analysing and playing the day over and over in head torturing myself! Need to stop that.

Agh. That’s unfortunate for me.
We need a programme for modular students who have done up to the ATPL Theory stage of training. Financial sponsorship/support to help modular students over the CPL ME IR, UPRT and APS MCC fence (and TR).
Good luck though guys. Back to the drawing board for me.

Hi guys, I'm wondering if it's a safe decision to apply to the TUI and BA programs both for their 2025 intakes. I want to have as many chances as possible of getting on a course but I don't want to be denied from one course then have to wait another year to possibly be denied again.

Ah ok. I had a chat with pilot recruitment and they emphasised it is 'up to' 200 spaces. There is a certain standard that candidates need to hit on the assessment days to get the funding. So even though there is budget for 200, hypothetically many less might actually get it due how it is assessed.

Hi all, has anyone been through their medical class 1 CAA recently? If so could you share what tests were taken exactly? I’ve tried to look online but their website reports different things depending on what page/document you look up. Wanted to speak to my GP just to get everything in order should I pass. Thank you

I had my CAA class 1 medical during the past couple of weeks and I can honestly say it was a lot more relaxed than I had in my head!! I was pretty nervous but as soon as I got there I was made to feel relaxed and calm. The order of the medical may be different depending on where you go but mine was as follows:
1) Arrived and within 15 mins I provided a Urine sample. This test is done to test proteins and sugars, nothing to worry about!
2) Eye sight tests. This is done by an optician - think of it as a regular eye appointment with a few more tests in there such as an Ishihara colour blindness test which is just literally reading coloured numbers out a book! You are told straight away if your eyes meet the min requirements. I was worried about this as I wear glasses but I had no issues and was signed off.
3) Bloods, Alcohol test and ECG - finger prick blood tests to check Haemoglobin and Cholesterol, blowing into a tube like a breathalyser to test your alcohol levels and then an ECG to check heart function.
4) Hearing and lung function test - Headphones on and sat in a soundproof box, press button every time you hear noise, pretty easy. Lung test is just a deep breath in a 6 second exhale into a tube to measure lung function.
5) Finally once all that is done you go and see a Doctor who puts all the info in, asks you a few more questions about medical history, does a few more of their own checks and then you're done!
I was there for a few hours - All in all it was a good experience and a lot less nerve-wracking compared to what I had in my head! I hope yours goes well and I hope this helps some SPA candidates who will have their medicals soon!
