This is my first message on the forum, however i’ve been reading it since the beginning of the first speedbird application. Last year i applied and made it to the in person skybourne interviews at the age of 17, however sadly i didn’t make it any further. I was completing my a levels through this time and i knew that a pilot is want i wanted to become, so i didn’t let this stop me and it made me even more determined. So i reapplied this year with skybourne again and have made it onto the program this time around ( i’m 18 now, so it really shows that age is no barrier ). I have been given a start date of July. I was just wondering for the other candidates who have been accepted is there anything anyone is doing before we start in preparation or are you waiting to find out more from the webinar? And finally for anyone who is reading the forum looking for advice for applying next year then my biggest piece of advice would be to make sure you do your research and understand what a pilots role is and that your interview examples are relevant to the role of a pilot.
How can he be preparing now? Eg for the initial aptitude tests and passenger announcement and what actually took place on the assessment day? What sort of things did you have on your CV at such a young age?
Any tips at all are so very gratefully received.

Woody11,
Congratulations on getting a place on the program! a fantastic achievement at such a young age.
The webinar should give you many tips to prepare for the challenge ahead of you. Apart from that I'd like to offer you a little piece of advice for preparation, GET FIT!
the first 6 months of the program is a slog and you need to be fit and healthy to sustain your focus and learning capability, it is scientifically proven that a fit and healthy body helps with brain function. There's a lot of information to consume at ground school. So, get into a good routine of exercising regularly, doesn't matter what it is (Football, Gym, jogging etc.) as long as you're doing something that raises your heart rate lol. Also, HYDRATION!
sooo very important for the body and brain to optimise performance, drink plenty of water. All this will benefit you as well when you go for your Class1 medical, the healthier you are the more chance you have of getting through that without any hiccups. Good luck for the future with BA! I wish you well.

Well done everyone!
It was unfortunately bad news for me this week but hoping the feedback will be good and to make the next intake.
My question is though obviously they took on more people this year so are they running it again in 2025? Website mentions ‘planning’ just it will impact me applying to stuff at the minute if they are running it or not 🤞

I have heard of one or two who are also older than me so definitely don't rule it out due to your age!
Hopefully my comments will come as a lesson for those younger, make it happen before life catches up with you.Good luck to you all, hopefully you can be flying me away on a trip in a few years

SierraLimaJuliette, could you drop me a message too. Haven’t posted previously so cannot send messages yet. Successful FTE applicant here too. I’m certain we met at the final stay of selection!

Is there a group chat on WhatsApp for the successful Skyborne applicants? Would be great to chat to you all! I'll also be starting September 1st
Also to jump on the bandwagon, I'm 25 now, will be 26 when I start and 28 when I finish the course. It's honestly so refreshing and relieving to see such a range of ages and backgrounds (family lives etc) being accepted onto the course, I can't wait to meet you all!
