Talking Its Back...

"Belly of the Beast" was taken down for a while (probably due to company politics?) but it is back now and well worth a watch! It generated 200 000 views in a week just before it was taken down.

Link here: Belly of the Beast

Edit, ok, not sure how to post it directly to the post, previous attempt failed...

That what you wanted?

Thumbs up Thanks...

Thanks for the replys about the video, it is a great vid, I don't want anyone to think it is mine though, its not. It was made by a fella whose youtube name is 'Belleka' who used to fly frieght in a B747-200F for MK in Africa. Unfortunately it seems that MK have folded and Balleka is looking for a new gig.

For those that haven't seen, The FE's Lament and African Skies videos are great as well.

Cheers,

ABX

The 747 sure is one elegant looking aircraft, even as a tired freighter.

OK, I'll bite! I assume that the camera is attached to the nose wheel - appears to be the case, with gear doors opening and closing.

How does the nosewheel come down without the mains in the landing sequence?

Hey Doc, too complicated for the likes of me to fully understand, but... yes, he attached the camera to the FLG with cable-ties, then after take-off raised the gear in the normal fashion. When he descended to FL100 and slowed to (whatever his gear extension speed is) he selected an alternate gear extension (?) and lowered only the nose wheel.

Balleka has got a video explaining the whole thing in detail, but it is not up at the moment, now that his employer has folded he might be at liberty to put it back up.

To the experts, it wouldn't surprise me if I got that NQR so be gentle - please?

Cheers,

ABX

Ps. The camera was set to stop-motion mode, only took a frame every few seconds, as you can see in the video if you look closely.

NQR!

The Contour HD doesn't have a stop-motion mode. There is a HD/SD switch but he had it recording in HD.

Other editing etc must be done afterwards,

Cheers
