WCC??? Well oil beef hooked!!
Last time I saw her, she had a wheel up the front (proper) end, and was lovingly owned by a notorious Ppruner from out this way!
That old 182 was nicknamed "Bourbon Charlie Charlie" as the owner had a huge appetite for Bourbon rather than Whiskey (still has actually).
Great to see WCC looking great re-birthed. If aircraft could talk, she would have some good yarns to tell.
I'm sure the Ppruner concerned will be along directly to comment.

Beachy is correct, she was referred to as Bourbon Charles Charles.

She was allegedly Bush Pilots first all metal lighty. I think the original rego was BPG or S. The went to Winton Air Charter (hence the WCC rego).
Then she was in Charleville with Bob Goss Westinair about 1962-4.
Bill McMonagle once told me he used to fly it and that it cost 20 quid in Avgas to fly to the coast from Charleville.
What I replaced her with around 2001. Ex Summer Instsitute of Linguistics Guess where.
And just before SIA headed off to NZ in 2005.

Buggers got WCC for a low price. About 50k cheaper than a 180 at the time.)
They flew it for awhile as a 182 on jump ship duties.
When the time came, they had the parts ready to go for the conversion, and they did most of it themselves.
I think it has an io-550 in it as well. Climbs like mad.
I think it only weighed about 740 kg or something like that.
It also has hydraulic under wing spoilers attache to the rear spar for descent.

What I do is 'copy' the photos IMG code (not the HTML code) and then 'paste' it in and it sorts itself out. But for multiple photos I have to go backwards and forwards for each photo.
Approving the new one-way strip in the old coconut plantation on Christopher Skase's leased island where he was building a resort.. Barracuda Point where the reef juts out on the top right of the photo (N.E. side) was a top dive spot, while I got lots of crays on a moonless night dive on the western side (left of photo where the resort went).

Second landing - back on again. Alright with a crosswind or headwind, but heavy in an Islander with no reverse thrust like a Twotter, was trickier with a roaring tailwind..
It'll do - (until the resort was burnt down under Mike Gore's tenure)
Chief pilot and Brian Smith (later lost his life in the Mount Gambier Kingair crash)
Note planted grass to stabilize the sand.
Taking the goat track over the ridge from the resort to the strip later, (the guests went round by boat), Barracuda Point directly ahead over the umbrella at the white water.
