Guys,

I very much appreciate the posting of these heavy, multi-engined airline aircraft images.

Its good to not be so single-minded.

Regards,

Ahhh Forkie, that was a bit uncharitable. Granted, as a frontline fighter, she was dated before the idea left the drawing boards but from an engineering point of view....Anyway it turned into an excellent close air support platform........and it sounds pretty cool too! Now we got two flying, hope they show up at TEM in September.

Yes, the Boomerangie was flying at Temora last month when we were there.

Problem is you hear this noise and think "Now that is a cool noise"! Then you look up, see its only the Boomerangie and think "What a waste of cool noise"!

Yes the Caribou is going to be sorly missed. or the noise more to the point.

Just finished up Talisman Sabre in CQ and had pairs flying low in formation overheard almost daily. What a sound.

so you could see that post? I'm still in the land of the database error. Apparently there's something on page 269 that doesn't want to be seen by me.

Atlas I agree about that Dr's comments - no taste.

Although my P76 has long gone, I loved it. V8 four on the floor. It used to purr. It was a company car and was replaced by a boring Falcon.

But in truth, those light alloy V8's (3.5l if I rem correctly!) were just bloody marvellous in a jet boat! Had mine shoving a Hamilton 752 unit on a 16'er -damn that wee girl could go! Some people I knew then had them shoving the -753 units too! A nice light engine that didn't need to guzzle it's tucker to get the job done

Oshkosh 2009

Just imagine you're a happy dog, huge grass field, sunny day, rolling around on your back, 4 legs up in the air scratching your back thinking that this is just great. Aeroplanes as far as the eye can see

You can buy one of these zero timed, for something in the region of $4-6 mil. usd. The guys flying these get to load and unload them!, they carry in the region of 3 - 3.5ton of stuff so would get to be pretty fit loading them.

FTDK rolling in the grass. --- you know the drill

Something for our forked tail friends. --- Star of the show at aeroshell square, just a day or so before white knight and the A380

Now with multiple GPS's what else could one wish for - go fasttt mods.

In 'full' size, newly announced jet sonex

Talking about putting engines in new places.....

Yeah, I can really see todays generation of up and coming pilots happily doing that.

Wonder if we'll ever see a jet powered DC-3

More power -- i need more power!!

This one 'only' had 1500hp or so with the original merlin, they're apparently getting a new engine with 2500hp getting installed.
