If Vlad still needs fodder then he should look around the beaches and pools of Cyprus! I'm on holiday here and there are plenty of military aged males lounging about dreaming of the fatherland.

Surprise..

Russian Ambassador to Ireland, Yuri Filatov has warned that if Ireland trains the Ukrainian military in mine and IED disposal/clearing as planned next month, it will be seen as a Ireland becoming directly involved in the conflict. Nice guy.

One of the few thing Ireland can actually do well militarily is mine/bomb disposal thanks to experiences during The Troubles in NI.

A Russian prisoner that has had his eyes opened.

Was a time that Yuri would be getting a call giving him 5 minutes to vacate...

That's the latrine bucket being burnt by the looks of it. They may mess with an IR signature, but the stink will be unforgettable. Most of the ATW are not IR as far as I can recall, but whatever floats their boat (Moskva notwithstanding)

These guys are alive as the Ukrainians are professional and are not conducting indiscriminate killing. Can't imagine a more graphic comparison of Russia, who blow up a building with the POWs inside, or castrate a POW and then murder him, vs these guys who just gave three Russians their lives back.

Solovyada yada could spend some time reflecting on matters like that, before he goes down on the SS Putanic, as a true sycophant.

Bar being incredibly small and looking like they are very light, isn't it nice of the Russians to have cast lifting eyes in them, so you can simply hook a line through a row and tow them out of the way with your tank.. as they are not sunken into the ground I would imagine a bulldozer would just shove them out of the way as well. Dragons teeth or milk teeth?

Also spot the deliberate error....

A closer look

The Russians in excavating the anti tank trench have stacked all the soil removed from the said trench on the Ukrainian side, so all the Ukrainians need to do is push it back into the hole. You just couldn't make this sh*t up. if they had stacked in on the Russian side it would have meant the Ukrainians would have needed to ramp in and out of the trench then climb over the pile, but now they just need to backfill with the readily Russian supplied correct amount of dirt using a bulldozer blade equipped tank..

I've got an idea: Why don't they make lightweight plastic ones that can be put in position and then filled with water? It's an established technology that works pretty well for temporary roadside crash barriers. Fitted with drain plugs, it would then be simple for the Russians to drain the water out and take them with them whenever they retreat, meaning they don't need to burden their increasingly-fragile logistics with a resupply...

Errmm I think a tank would just squash them. The idea is to prevent a tank rolling over them.

I think you will find that the IEDs were laid in Northern Ireland and not Eire and therefore the task fell on the British Army to deal with them.

These may be Wagner markers delineating where the impregnable Maginot Line will eventually be.

:O

I know

More dead conscripts in Russia.

At least two Russian conscripts are dead and 11 have been injured after a truck ran over them at a top-secret training base.

Israpil Abkherdilayev, 22, a contract soldier, rammed a KamAZ military transport into the conscripts at a training ground near the city of Mirny, northwest Russia, around 7pm on Thursday.

One soldier died at the scene while a second died later in hospital, where 11 others are now recovering with various degrees of injury.

I think you will find loyalist paramilitaries laid plenty in the Republic, so it was the Irish Army dealing with them.

Some of the more aggressive Republican paramilitaries also targeted Judges, Gardaí, Prison Officers etc in the Republic who they thought were giving them an unfair amount of attention.

Then after The Troubles, many of those skilled in making such devices began selling their services to drug gangs, so unfortunately there’s still demand for the disposal capabilities.

Una, re Ireland, does Rugby not count?

While this is of some interest (mines in Ireland) if further discussion is warranted please move it to another thread.
Thank you in advance

Assuming this is true - WOW, just WOW:
Russia Now Has a Second Frontline Set Up Just to Kill Its Deserters: Intel (thedailybeast.com)

“They brought the inmates here... from prison. But they led them somewhere way up front. And we’re sitting here as a retreat-blocking detachment, ****. If someone runs back, we snuff them out.”

“That’s how we have it set up. We sit on the second line, guarding the first. Behind us, there’s another line. If you go that way, you also won’t make it. So it’s impossible to run away. They shoot their own.”
