Not sure any of them are capable of running a McDonalds, irrespective of how many stars they have. It wont be long before they have to put a general in charge, that was a corporal at the start of the special operation. :}

Sorry for interrupting bridge debate but another two Zuzana howitzers were delivered to Ukraine. Brand new from factory (photo from FB of Slovak minister of defence J. Naď).

A few months back, @TrentTelenko posted a great question (see below). The possible answer is somewhat unexpected – according to an L/DNR Telegram blogger, civilian vehicles are being used because all the military tires have been stolen and sold. A 🧵

Speculation that Russia sabotaged German railway network
https://www.focus.de/panorama/bahn-s...162148261.html
The rail network in N Germany was paralysed for half a day when two fibre-communication cables - hundreds of kilometres apart -were severed. The article speculates that this could be another Russian warning ( like Nordstream pipeline ) that lots of European infrastructure is vulnerable. This action obviously required a lot of technical knowledge and operatives over a significant area, so unlikely to be extremist weirdos. |
Aviation content
In Rostov on 9th October a RuAF SU-24 made a forced landing, pilots ejected and safe. Interesting bit is that the Russian media that reports it says that "Presumably, the emergency situation occurred due to the long service life of the aircraft, due to outdated characteristics and capacities, it did not reach the airfield." Are the russkies really running out of spares and updated aircrafts? Was this some sort of soviet era storage piece although they are claiming long service life? And they are really saying all this out loud? Short article but what is unsaid makes it interesting. https://rostovgazeta.ru/news/2022-10...yabrya-1632867 |

One way of stopping people knowing what’s going on.
I assume smokers will be blamed? |

Keep folding money to hand, retain a telephone landline, a full tank of petrol. and back up to an external hard drive in a Faraday cage! That said, one does hope that reasonable precautions are in hand: Germany was not an obvious target for wrath, given its less than enthusiastic support of Ukraine. |

Things are getting grim when you have to use video from a Trump rally to back up your case.... I suspect the Russkies have no clue how most Americans view Trump's spewage. These Russkie talk shows are both terrifying and humorous. fdr, do Russians really believe this stuff?
I have no idea, however, they are heading towards the following symptoms across the whole Gulag Archepelago Have you suffered from:
IMHO The Russians I worked with were very happy to relocate their family and themselves to locations outside of Russia. One or two remained in Russia, and I hope their sons did not stay. One's daughter spoke 10 different languages, and was delightful. I hope she is in any other country that she could talk their language. She could go anywhere though, and speak like a native in a day or two. My Russian friends are very quiet now, and that is the way it has to be, they have a vindictive pathological government, and have had for centuries. They do have vodka though. P.S.: While it is easy to demonise Russia, there are some true, visionary, patriots who understand the damage that the junta of Putin is imposing on Russia. The history of totalitarianism with the attendant violence towards it's own people have subjugated much of Russia and the client states to cattle, as the former Colonel in this video said to the police when they were picking up protesters against the incarceration of Alexi Navalny once again on 2nd February 2021. At least 100 Protesters were carted off for an intimate education of the benevolence of the Putin regime. Navalny had more than 30% of the population in Moscow vote for him, in spite of Putin and his repugnant fascho-criminal regime. There are heroes within Russia, but they have to act in unison to bring down the man who has single handedly brought Russia to this time and place in their current condition. |

Lightning strike? §25. 581, §25.1316? [barely aviation content] IMHO :} Moscow Octod Tower is a 258 metres (846 ft) tall lattice tower in Moscow, Russia. The Moscow Octod Tower is a lattice tower used for FM- and TV-transmission in an unusual octagonal cross section, it is one of the tallest Hyperboloid structures in the world. Construction work on Moscow Octod Tower started in 2004. It was completed in 2006. The owner of the tower is the broadcasting company "Octod". The company and tower are situated on the territory of the former "October radio center." The address is "Demyana Bednogo str. 24, Khoroshevo-Mnyovniki district," in the western part of Moscow. Components were made completely of steel at a machine-building plant in Syzran. The lower sections of the Moscow Octod Tower were assembled using a crane; the top was lowered by helicopter Mil Mi-26TM. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....6fd84aa20d.png |
