Several Russian commanders have been discharged due to failures at the frontlines:
.
The commander of the 1st Guards Tank Army, Lt. General Kysel was removed from the position for the failure to capture Kharkiv;

.Thecommander of the Black Sea Fleet, Igor Osipov, was removed due to Moskva cruiser sinking;
.
TheRussian General Staff commander Valery Gerasimov, likely still in his position but unclear if allowed to manage forces, intellgence says no, this is due to unprecedented losses in personnel and vehicles;

The commander of the 6th Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District, Lt. General Vladislav Ershov, for the same reasons - losses, and failure to capture Kharkiv;

The commander of the 22nd Army Corps of the Fleet located in Crimea, Arkadiy Marzoyev, was removed. This is the corps formed after 2015, currently fighting in Kherson;
.
The commander of the 103rd Separate Brigade Colonel Ponomaryov;
.
General Ershov was not only discharged but ordered to house arrest due to huge losses of personnel. The total losses of the 6th Combined Arms Army are over 2,000 people, 180 of them were conscripts.

The commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army, Lt. General Zus’ko, the same army that was taking Tskhinval in 2008.
.
Over 150 other officers were arrested or discharged.
.
Put under house arrest is the head of the 5th service, Col. General Sergey Beseda, from FSB. Beseda was moved to prison. This is related to the large-scale theft of funds dedicated to secret services in Ukraine and improper reports of the political situation in Ukraine.

Why not draft them, and send them to the front? At least the retreat and/or surrender would be more orderly.

No Mr Simpson (BBC) - Biden, this is what is meant by a pre-emptive strike to stop Russia using its battlefield nuclear weapons”.

A challenge to Putin to use TNW; or a message to the generals to say no. Dissidence in command.

Brings the war to the front of Russian media; the significance of a security video identifying the truck. A threat to all Russian people, which bridge, which truck, where in Russia - the one over the Moscow river before Red Square.

Requiring military checks on all road transport into the Crimea for explosives; but isn't most of the transport carrying explosives - that will slow things up.
Concern for all other operations in occupied Ukraine, which bridge, when; logistic snarl-up, apprehensive troops.

All things in war are simple, but even the simplest is difficult” Clausewitz
Fortuitous road and rail strike, or a well planned and executed operation; whatever - the tactical and strategic value is immense.

Large queues in Crimea to fill up cars, with a dwindling fuel supply you would think they would restrict supplies.

A bit of humanity in all this sh*t

Russian bots are all over the internet gleefully advocating mass nuclear murder, both in Ukraine and the entire world. How could we have allowed a country like Russia to become such an immoral, criminal threat to humanity? The Chinese, Indian and other governments who stood silent must now fear the consequences of their neutrality. It may result in their complete destruction.

As well as pipelines….

#BREAKING German rail operator Deutsche Bahn says sabotage caused the massive problems with the train network in the north of the country on Saturday.

The German rail operator said "sabotage to cables which were vital for train traffic" led to the disruption - and security authorities have taken over the investigation. More details to follow

Looked at the video again and have to say: I'm pretty sure there is a boat arriving fast just in that second just in that place and just when it arrives - kaboom.
Would that suggest that Sevastopol yacht-yard is now in play?

Any more on the Moscow situation, or was that false?

No, that was confirmed - now a Kremlin spokesman is saying Putin won’t be speaking in public for “several days”.

One wonders what has, or will, happened to him…

Film showing the surrender helpline and how they go about it, they appear to be getting a few freshly mobilised.

Rumours in the Twitterverse, unconfirmed, that Putin will declare War on Ukraine tomorrow. Might have something to do with him and the top team disappearing for the next few days. Perhaps they have taken up residence in the Führer bunker to avoid the fallout of whatever they do next.

jolihokistix 8th Oct 2022 21:25

Was the Nordstream pipeline attack the beginning of a tit-fer-tat ‘No more Mr Nice Man’ gloves-off infrastructure war where nothing is too holy? Were they even false flags?

Or is this a demo run to a heavier body-blow slugfest?

Putin could still declare that a land grab was never his aim, merely a sharp war of attrition to show Ukraine what Russia was capable of and that he did not enjoy having his bluff called. All he rest of the unpleasantness was the fault of the military leadership.

70th Birthday magnanimity?
“Special punitive strikes now ending!”

I see they have another General in charge in Ukraine, they have more stars than McDonalds.
