So what is S-500? S-500 is a long-range air and missile defense system operated by the VKS (Russian Aerospace Forces).
It is a direct derivative of S-300V, the principal long-range maneuver SAM operated by the SV (Russian Ground Forces).

President Zelenskyy…
🇺🇸 Today is a truly historic day. We signed the strongest agreement between Ukraine and the United States since our independence.…..
……The agreement clearly states that America supports Ukraine’s efforts to gain victory in this war. The agreement includes provisions for advanced defense systems like Patriot and fighter jet squadrons—that’s right, plural, squadrons—including, but not limited to, F-16s.
The document also details the supply of necessary weapons, their joint production, and strengthening of our countries' defense industries through cooperation. This will provide not only security, but also new good jobs for Ukrainians and Americans.….

Here in Aus:
Just watching the news about the new multibillion $ packages from the EU and the $ from the USA...
Besides, that some of these monies seem to be from the $Interest$ that Russia should receive (so no actual outlay) - And that Poland and others have stepped up to the plate is great news, albeit some funds and materials are still 'Later this year'.
It seems to me, in my fickle mind that the 'West' is starting to go for it...
Upping the pressure, now.
I wonder if Five Eyes knows something we don't.
I've said previously; that the 'West' cannot allow Putin to win. The Russian 'Bureau's' that (apparently, Putin still has to get the ok from)), may be thinking it's not going too well for Russia [Considering the continuing fall in Gas/Oil revenue and the Ruble decline - AFAWK] and that other people in the background may have to have 'words; with Putin?
How much is really left in this National Wealth Fund that Russia built up really quickly - amazingly a year, for some unknown reason!! - just before they invaded UKR?
No-one "The West' talks about what they thought about as this surprising massive increase in the NWF was going on.
Remember Macron going personally to see Putin months before the invasion...? The West [Five Eyes] knew!
10 years ago it was Crimea.
[NB: I wonder if these Crimea attacks are going to be another D-Day thing?] I understand that one shouldn't say these things on social media as "Lips sink Ships", but is Putin thinking the same thing?
Now it's half of Ukraine.
All of Putin's ideas of 'going back to the old days', is that in another 10 years, he will (from the back benches), be pushing...!
It's going to be far cheaper and many lives saved to stop him now, than in another 10-20 years.
However, the weapon 'Safety/Security' technology is big $. Russia/China will build better stuff and the 'West' will build better 'anti' Russia/China stuff.
Wash - Rinse - Repeat....

AA radars have software that enables them to filter out things that they don't want to see e.g. small objects moving at less than x knots to eliminate birds from the display. Obviously no idea what parameters were set here, but it could be one explanation ....as could be being asleep.
Not sure, whether these attacks were drones or one of the multiple acronyms supplied from Western countries.

Putin keeps painting himself deeper and deeper into a corner - making increasingly difficult (impossible) to get out and maintain power (and perhaps his life).
I shudder to think what he might do when it becomes clear that he has absolutely no way out.
I just pray sanity prevails amount those he commands to carry out his "this is the end" orders...

More empty threats and red lines from Kremlin. "last chance or else". After more than 800 days of "the Else" already this sounds a bit lame.

"The next one will be a surrender offer" - someone will have to reply in the traditional manner, "I'm sorry old chap. We couldn't possibly accept your surrender. We simply haven't the space."

Tonight, Ukrainian drones (reportedly over 30) targeted Russia's Morozovsk airbase, home to a number of Russian Air Force Su-30/34/35 strike aircraft.
Numerous explosions could be heard near the base, with smoke and flames also spotted rising nearby.

Before and after video comparison…
The aftermath of Ukraine's recent strike on Morozovsk air base in Russia is visible in new satellite imagery.
The base was last struck by Ukraine earlier this year in April.

S500 is designed to supplement the S400 system and shares many common components. It extends the range covered out to a claimed 600Km and, according to the marketing, can engage both hypersonic and ballistic missiles as well as satellites, cruise missiles and aircraft etc.
The claimed deployment to Crimea is likely a response to the pledges of F16 entering the battlespace to put pressure on supplier governments including the US and also psychological pressure on Ukraine cambatants. In other words it is the same tactic of performance uncertainty to force calculation onto the side of caution, together with adding internal pressure to complicate and potentially delay training and donations of F16's from and European governments and the US permissions in the run up to the elections.
Then there is the issue of how many S500's Russia actually has. Probably less than a handfull. The system is undoubtedly expensive and like the su57 has no combat experience. Knowing that the S500 may be in theatre will make it a prime target for elimination.

NK supplying Russia with ammunition and missiles.
Russian own production is currently 250k rounds monthly, so NK is providing almost two years worth of Russian production. Even if the NK shells would be 50% rubbish, that would still leave Russian forces with a years worth of production extra.
It is of outmost importance for the west to ramp up production AND provide long range weapons to halt the russian logistics.
