Medvedev:

“I see no point in maintaining diplomatic relations with Poland. This state must not exist for us while there is no one but Russophobes in power and Ukraine is full of Polish mercenaries, who should be ruthlessly exterminated like stinky rats.”

It's a fairly depressing prospect that the conflict might to last so long that an aircraft currently existing only on paper would have an effect.

Remember the report that Poland had found an aerial object in a forest a few days ago, well there are now thoughts that it may well be an old Russian nuclear weapon that was used as a decoy on an earlier attack on Ukraine and went adrift.

this one

Marders on the training ground, interestingly they appear to be training in defeating the Russian defence dragons teeth.

Nutloose post #217, I must have got some dust in my eye when she said at the end of the interview, "...that it is a country worth fighting for, and that's why I am here.."

Now if only the politicians that are wringing their damp hands about sending appropriate arms to Ukraine would agree with her.

If you don't stop this now, you will be fighting it in Berlin.

In case Russia gets bad ideas of seizing not just parts of Finnish companies but parts of Finland itself, in Finland ammunition is priced per person.

Interesting…

🚨 #Bakhmut may very well end up being the catalyst for a Russian civil war.

1) Putin has ordered that Bakhmut must be taken by May 8th, in time for the Soviet Victory Day parade on May 9th. He has threatened Shoigu and others with dire consequences.

2) Prigozhin has Putin's blessing as head of Wagner PMC, a mercenary group established and largely controlled by the FSB & GRU (Russian Military Intelligence).

3) Army and intel services famously hate each other. The jockeying for power between the various factions has been ongoing.

4) Expect Wagner PMC to retreat from Bakhmut in the coming days to completely screw over Shoigu and the Russian army. This is a perfect way for Prigozhin to setup Shoigu and other generals.

5) For May 9th, Ukrainians may end up controlling all of Bakhmut, and possibly much, much more. This would have highly unpredictable domino effects domestically in Russia.

6) Right now, the Russian Game of Thrones is just backstabbing, scheming in the shadows, assassinations, and so on. But Bakhmut may turn out to be the catalyst to ignite a 'hot' civil war among the factions in Russia.

Further to #229,

"Russia is on the brink of catastrophe."

Prigozhin issued an ultimatum to Shoigu and threatened Putin with military mutiny

Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the PMC "Wagner", wrote a letter to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, demanding to provide ammunition.

Prigozhin gave an ultimatum that if the problem with supplies for his PMC is not solved, he will complain to Putin, and the mercenaries will leave their positions in Bakhmut and retreat.

"I appeal to Shoigu with a request to immediately issue ammunition. In case of refusal, I consider it necessary to inform the Supreme Commander-in-Chief (Putin) about the existing problem in order to make a decision and about the advisability of further presence of the "Wagner" PMC in Bakhmut in conditions of ammunition shortage. <...> The deadline for making a decision is today, April 28," Prigozhin said.

The leader of the mercenaries said that "ammunition is no longer left for weeks, but for days." "If the shortage does not stop, <...> part of the units we will be forced to withdraw from this territory, and then everything else will collapse," Prigozhin said.

According to his prediction, Ukraine's offensive will begin no later than May 15. "We need to stop deceiving the population and telling them that everything is fine with us. <...> I must honestly say: Russia is on the brink of catastrophe," Prigozhin stressed.

I suppose all wars have turning points - Midway, El Alemain, Stalingrad, Normandy etc. When this is over maybe Bakhmut will be added to the list.
