The Moscow Times: Russian state propaganda has been instructed to prepare the population for defeat in Ukraine's counteroffensive.
The Kremlin has issued new instructions to propagandists ahead of Ukraine's counterattack. According to the instructions, the state media should not reassure Russians by telling them that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unprepared, the Meduza news agency quoted its sources in the presidential administration.
On the contrary, propagandists are required "not to lower expectations" about the announced counterattack and to emphasize that NATO countries supply Ukraine with weapons and support it in every possible way.
According to the sources, the AP expects that this approach will make it easier for the population to accept Russia's possible defeat. If Ukraine recovers any territories, Russians will be told that this happened thanks to the "huge efforts of the West," which it "concentrated on the front."
If the counteroffensive is unsuccessful, citizens will be told that "the army skillfully repelled a superior attack," and the price of that victory will increase dramatically, the sources add...

It appears the Pope is now trying to stick his oar into the peace process though not invited too by Ukraine. Short of **** orf from Ukrainian territory and don’t come back and recompense them for the damage and losses, I cannot see anything else being acceptable.
According to sources:
Pope Francis says he is willing to travel to Ukraine, which is under attack from Russia, but only on the condition that he can also travel to Moscow. "I will go to both places or to neither," the head of the Catholic Church said in an interview with the March 11 edition of Argentinian newspaper La Nacion. War in Ukraine could only be ended through dialogue and concrete peace initiatives, he said.

I don’t know whether to be flattered or not, a Russian propagandist says that now Russia is pally with China, a Chinese Russian combined force could defeat Britain… He obviously thinks Russia or China wouldn’t be capable on their own.

It's only taken Russia a year to figure out they are targetting the wrong targets.... Damn, let's hope it is to late to cause any real damage, having expended most of their missiles etc...

Perhaps the original plan was to try to freeze the general population out during the Winter? Now that's failed, move onto targets related to and supporting any new Ukrainian offence?
