The Birds make full stall landings on a wire look so easy , Numptynoonoo thought he would impress the crowd with a birdie landing on the wire technique, later recognized as the aviators version of the famed dance of the flaming buttocks as practiced in rowdy bars .

The Catapult was misset at B52 weight, so early rotation was achieved

After a couple of missed approaches Hoskins ran out of fuel, with only 10 feet to go.
So was born the legend don't skip on the gas..

The accident inquiry later reported the incident was caused by the Genie missle being loaded onto the wrong pylon.

Maverick normally lands on a 1000 ft Nimitz class but struggled when cross decking to Eagle

Visiting US aircraft couldn’t quite figure out the concept of a VTOL carrier such as the Illustrious.
