Well in the days of yore each sailing ship had a figurehead on the prow, but as wood was not allowed a alternate was needed...

Well that proves only one piece of wire is strong enough to support the weight of the aircraft, so string 'em up in the hangar. There sorted the storage problem, get more planes on the Carrier...

The picture was actually an early Attenborough and is the only known picture in existence of the pupal stage of the F4. The mothers are extremely protective and this picture was obtained at no small personal risk.

And so to the the honours and awards.

Predictability award:
622- We are gonna need a bigger boat!

Bronze goes to:
Big Pistons Forever When I says WHOA, I mean WHOA !

Sliver goes to:

Kiltrash: Phew, that was close Captains Emergency Stop went better than expected, however only one teensey weensey problem....

Gold Medal, cue national anthem and flag:

Traffic_Is_Er_Was: Wow! Only a 7.5 from the Hungarian judge. He is certainly hard to please.

Congratulations Sir, Madam or appropriate honorific, the CST will be on its way as soon as it has been winched on board and dried off.

Congratulations all... Worthy winners one and all

I blame Buster for my dismal failings at this one, he normally makes us all look good.

I made a shortlist and read them out to the final adjudicator and used the grinometer. to gauge the winner. In this case, Gold actually got a small snort which is high praise indeed. Mind you, what she knows about aviation could be written on the back of a stamp and still leave room for the Lord's Prayer in 18pt font!
