This war won't last forever and when I get back to good old Blighty I have come up with a wizzo idea, I am going to collect all the feral cats we can find and then bury them up to their necks every ten foot or so down the centre of the road. What do you say to that huh?, a spiffingly marvellous safety invention.

We can’t wait for Tigercat missiles to be issued, so this will have to do for now.

Percy Shaw, the chap who invented "Cate Eyes", got the idea from seeing a cat's face in his headlights. Had the cat been facing the other way then he would have invented the pencil sharpener. (Courtesy of Ken Dodd).

"How do you make a cat bark?"

"You glue its feet to a solid surface, douse it in petrol and throw in a match. The whole thing then goes "Woooof".

Don’t worry, we have renamed the missile system SeaCat instead of SeeCat to fool the hun about the guidance system.

Well, we wanted to come up with some terrifying noise, like the Stuka. At first, we installed them backwards to get a good whistling effect but, in the end, we found that letting them see what was happening had a similar and more satisying result!

Hapless minion: Sorry sire, I remember now, it was puppies!

Anderson: No, no and thrice no! Puppets!

Excellent work Hoskins, I know the USN devised a explosive pack for Dolphins to place under enemy warships, but perhaps we need a bigger cat or smaller warhead before we send Tiddles out on her first mission...
