Shooting starts on a more PC "Dambusters"

"Oh Hip you say? Back in the day my Mil 4 was a Hound."

"Put your other hand where I can see it or the finger gets bit."

This is what you get for staring too closely :

"I wouldn't bother saving up for a Yorkie; it won't be able to see over the glare-shield."

"No, Skipper, that's not bovine excrement from the live cargo we're carrying you can smell on my fingers, it's just the lingering bouquet of fighter pilot conversation from the last trip."

Pooch: "We've got them now Hoskins! I can smell their fear!"
Hoskins: "Err, sorry Skipper, that was me. I've never been inverted in a C130 before"

Peter Jackson obviously misunderstood when someone told him he'd never be able to remake the Dambusters because of the "dog issue".

In the fine traditions of Rafair, an existing aircraft is used for proof of concept for a new addition to the fleet. In this case testing out the old Airbus adage that the aircraft can control itself, the dog is there to ensure the pilot doesn't touch the controls and the pilot is there to feed the dog. Although corporal Cruft misunderstood the last bit slightly and though it was the pilot should be fed to the dog.

Despite having stretched the meaning of "autonomously-piloted", RAF chiefs were delighted with the first operational trials of the latest UK intelligence gathering platform, the "Retriever". They went on to say that they were looking forward to the trials of the attack variant, the "Agressor" which, naturally, is to be flown by either a Doberman, German Shepherd or Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
