After the war, in the spirit of good relations, the Army Air Force offered conversion training to ex Stuka pilots. Some struggled to adjust.

This is EXACTLY what is to be expected when you let a nav draw up the siting plans for the station gate-guardian: 90-degrees out as usual.

The Captain, explaining about the sudden onset of excess Gravity, opined the result was his inability to control the Nose pitching down as all the of iron bits entered the force field.

Later investigation determined the Tail Gunner's Girl Friend walked forward to use the Loo located just behind the cockpit.

After their merger with Consolidated Aircraft Vultee's engineers considered the B 24 as a replacement for the Vengeance. A single trial bombing run proved its unsuitability. However some good came from this idea as the B 36's engines were repositioned to avoid further embarrassments with late pull ups.
