" Jones, just get in and stay with it . .. . . all that science talk of yours about co-efficients of friction and reynolds numbers and such .. . . far too theoretical . . .it's when it gets hot in the front I know we are travelling"

(that is NOT a caption BTW)

In-flight entertainment has come a long way since the early days when projectors were used to beam movies on a single screen in the centre of a plane

this pic found here -

BBC News - Singapore Airshow: The fight for eyeballs in mid-air

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

when Cinerama came out in the mid 60s there was an episode where the movie camera was mounted in the nose of a cresta run toboggan.. . .
very impressive on the big screen it was

British attempts at stealth technology had the undesired effect, unlike the old days, of making machines that were actually doing 100mph look as though they were standing still.

--------------------------------------------------------

Despite putting on a brave face, the RAF bobsleigh team knew they probably wouldn't win following the HSE directive that they could only participate if they completed the run with the brakes applied.
