If Covid taught you anything its that all airlines are the same. They all let go of people (yes even in Europe with loads of unions and laws!)

I didn’t mean to disrespect anyone. But “ Beggars can’t be choosers” doesn’t fit our case. Have some self worth guys. Industry will recover and sooner or later there will be a severe pilot shortage. Pilots of any country always have a choice. Yes, you are just a number, it’s not like the good old days, but at-least in your home country you have some say. Your home airline wouldn’t fire you that easily, but as an expat, they don’t think twice. So take it with the pinch of salt. All those good T&Cs comes with a disclaimer in a fine print.

Agreed. There is some say, but ultimately they’ve let go of thousands of pilots in Europe (say or not, union or not). I think its always been clear that moving to the ME or most of ASIA means you’ve understood that you could get fired for anything with no fair reasoning or case. Its been like this for decades now. Thats why one trades security for more cash usually - everyone has a preference. That being said I know FOs in an EU country with 10 years service that were Fired during covid to make way for Captains to take their seat rather than firing equally across both seats - and yes there was a Union but nothing happened. So you tell me if that was fair? Safe to say no job is safe anywhere as a pilot - gone are the strong unions (most are self serving now), labor laws (what are those?)….
True.Like you said, it’s just a business and they only think about profits and we are just numbers. Covid 19 is an exceptional situation, none of the previous recessions were this bad. But Europe did recover fast and many airlines started hiring in no time.

Hey, can you please tell me how long it took after the psychometric test to receive an invitation? I just did the assessment a few days ago and have heard nothing from them. Any help will be appreciated.

Yes seniority. But they weren’t all senior. Direct Entry Captains can be less senior than SFOs. Even BA fired crew not by seniority but by Type (some crew never even flown on type were saved whilst others with years seniority let go) So honestly please stop thinking that its a ME way of firing, its done everywhere. You’re just not aware of it. At least in the ME you know you’re joining an outfit with little rights , as I said…its the calculated compromise you take usually for more money or benefits.

I agree, at least in QR you know where you stand.. unlike some bogus self employment schemes happening around Europe where the contracts are a paperweight itself.
I got a rejection letter today from initial online application. I have 15000+ hours total and more than 9000+ on Airbus A330/A340/A350 types. I suspect my lack of relevant type flying during the pandemic has red flagged my application. Nothing I can do about that.

Hey Guys,
I did submit my application about a month ago and heard nothing back. not the PSA email nor a rejection letter. I am type rated Bb738 F.O and current. I have +4000 Jet hours (1000 on B738). I reviewed my application and documents several times and all looks good. Any ideas what could be wrong. Is this a normal situation. Appreciate it.
