QR Offer withdrawn
I just got a news of a friend whose offer was withdrawn less than 3 weeks to joining. He has already resigned his current gig.
they told him due to some internal approval issues.
Guys here warned us. Be careful with QR people!

Internal approval maybe means visa issues, licenses issues or previous medical issues which i believe you really don't know your friend history to that details.
If he don't have any problem with the clearance from previous place he stay or work, i don't think there is any issue.
People will experience himself how to deal when they join QR, we are all professional. If you're not happy there then resign once your bond finishes. It is our choice anyway. Good or bad, still our decision. For me, i don't buy other people suggestion or warning. I want to experience myself.
There is no perfect airlines in this world, unless u created your own airlines perfect for you. But doesn't mean it is suitable for me or others. Our preferences differ.

4 of my friend already joined without any issues. 2 more will join this month. And the process looks ok as they requested a lot off stuff and do some paperwork to verify. But it is normal when you want to work in ME.

I bet you’d think differently if you’re in that situation.

How long does it take to get an answer after the interview? I was there 2 weeks ago. One got a rejection 3 days ago (Boeing rated FO) and one captain Airbus rated got positive feedback. The rest is waiting, but why?

New or old Airbus SOP
My current company has not implemented the A320 new SOP yet and I was wondering if that would cause any trouble during the simulator check in Doha (not sure if QR even use the new SOP or not)
I'd appreciate any feedback on the matter.

I know these things change depending on the level of applications and obviously at the moment there is no shortage but one thing I noticed is the hour requirements seem very oddly structured.
6000 tt on a commercial jet
1000 hrs PIC on Airbus
That would suggest they are building the requirements on someone who had 5000 hours in the RHS of a jet and then 1000 hours in the LHS. Seems very old school, i can only use myself as an example, I am already in the LHS and it would take me another 8 years or so to have 6000 hrs in a jet, and by then I'd have like 4000 PIC.

Maybe old school, and also current school of thought in many parts of the world, an Airbus or Boeing command would only occur with far far more than the 3000 total P2 (=as little as 4-5 years total experience from flying school), that some of the European carriers consider sufficient.

It's their train set and Im sure they aren't short of applications but it just seems out dated

So just with the minimum requirements on 320 what fleet are one supposed to go? Is it random? I can go i.e. to a 787? Or airbus pilots will be airbus pilots and boeing will stick to boeing.
i would honestly prefer to keep my A320 instead but its my understanding that with the cancelation of airbus orders that might not be be feasible.
will they inform you before you sign the contract?
tks

Only half a speed-brake
6000 means they want 8 years on the job
1000 PIC means they expect those who made it through an upgrade course (except not really the fresh ones)
On the shortest carrier path. Or anyone who did more time.
As much as I'd like to ask 'where did you hear QR pilot emplyment practices made any sense', the above has some solid logic in it.

Hey I am A320 rated. Passed the first stage online and got invited to the Assessment in Doha in June. Everything confirmed from both sides and I should receive the travel and assessment details soon. In the end, I never ever heard from them again. No replies from Glenda and Eunice to my emails and nobody ever picked up the phone when I tried to call them. Very disappointing and unprofessional.
