Yes seniority. But they weren’t all senior. Direct Entry Captains can be less senior than SFOs. Even BA fired crew not by seniority but by Type (some crew never even flown on type were saved whilst others with years seniority let go) So honestly please stop thinking that its a ME way of firing, its done everywhere. You’re just not aware of it. At least in the ME you know you’re joining an outfit with little rights , as I said…its the calculated compromise you take usually for more money or benefits.
