Hello everyone!
I'm reading a lot in this thread about the negatively situation is going against Ryanair and the different opinions.
What I have to say though, Ryanair has in order like 196 aircraft around ( more or less, correct me if I'm wrong) that means some pilots need to fly them or otherwise Ryanair just lost their money right ?
So I believe those people that spent already their Investments will have a future some how. Initial maybe the salary is less than a cashier at the grocery store but with perseverance and patience it will get better!
We have to climb the ladder that's surely can't be avoided.
I hope tho, that what Ryanair can do is to introduce the Cadet program sponsored like one time, 5000 € upfront and help us in some way.
This is what I agree. But going to say that after pay 30k€ we will get 0 € is not true definitely.
That's my honest opinion based on what I read and document myself.
Hope they will reintroduce the Cadet sponsored soon and the best for all of us!

Well, in order for Ryanair to reintroduce the 5000k sponsored program some people should stop applying for the current disgraceful 30000k scheme. There is no other way.

Unfortunately there will always be people willing to pay the 30k. Always kids who take out loans themselves or via their parents. People re mortgaging the house…. Look at them on Instagram and LinkedIn. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy for people that get their first job but they are creating the precedent and also ruining the pilot jobs pool/requirements. When you pay for an integrated course your goal should not be to get a job with RYR. That is a real low.
An assessment process should evaluate the persons suitability for the job. Well there are many cadets who struggle and will need close to 100 sectors to complete training. I know the training is class at RYR, no doubt, but its the initial caliber of pilots that come in that is not always the best….
People who dismiss the AFTA training contract is an issue, should look themselves in the mirror. Many people will be cut off and not offered a direct Ryanair contract, whether for performance or no need…..then thats 30k down the drain with some experience on…Ryanair….not the best airline to have on your CV.

This. So true and it is astonishing how how many people who are in favour of accepting the present RYR terms are unable to see anything beyond a "big shiny jet". Have any of you thought what would be the incentive for a company like Ryanair to give you lots of flying hours after your complete your line training when they have a queue of pay-to-fly "cadets" willing do it for nothing (just like what you would have done) going round the block and then some? Especially when the contract which you have agreed to gives them no obligation to give you any hours? Truly amazing times.

Career progression is arguably better than many carriers true, but there are so many downsides to working for them. I don’t need to say more than what the RYR CEO thinks of pilots. What he thinks is a very good reason why you shouldn’t work as a pilot there.

How is that hindering someone's career progression?
I'm not telling you who I work for (it's not Ryanair), but for example all the Middle Eastern operators and Cathay Pacific have taken on loads of former Ryanair pilots. easyJet and BA, too.

You are absolutely right but you don’t know how many of those RYR pilots don’t make the cut. Hundreds apply and very few make it to the carriers you mention. Does not make them special at all. There are so many people who try to leave RYR when they can….not as many as other airlines.
The training at Ryanair is great but the name is not so much. Other airlines recruitment teams know how basic the Ryanair recruitment process is for cadets.

You're missing the point here ... Once recruited, any cadet has to achieve a certain (RYR) standard of operation in order to be released on line. It doesn't matter how they were recruited, or where they came from. Other airlines recognise that RYR's operation requires a strict adherence by crews to SOP's, which is data monitored to maintain standards.
When Norwegian first started up, and attracted applications from RYR pilots, some of the RYR applicants had their sim assessments waived on the basis that if they were able to do the job for RYR, they could do a similar job for NAX.
I've no axe to grind with the above. Some of RYR's management techniques are ..... unique, however don't try and knock the standard of operation, or abilities of its flight crews. The name of the airline, its style of management, or reputation for customer service is irrelevant.

Of course there is a long training programme and they try to get everyone up to standard. Many are kicked out after or during training, but RYR are more interested in money unfortunately.
The abilities of flight crews cannot be questioned to a point within the company and a great safety culture. However the pass rate for RYR pilots into other carriers is significantly lower compared to other airlines and that cannot be disputed.

Nineshsimbers .. It can be disputed. The pass rate is much higher than you might think. Your comment is incorrect and uninformed. Incidentally, what's the pass rate like in Biman?

There is nothing more interesting than providing advice in order to save somebody from wasting 30k
+ for nothing. Joining Ryanair AT THE MOMENT is the worst thing to do and affects all of us. If you want to avoid facing the truth that's your own problem.

You are absolutely right. Preach the word. It’s funny to see people actually proud to join Ryanair. I understand a first job in the RHS, but its a low cost carrier with management who couldn’t care less about you! You are there to make them money. Only BALPA have pushed for appropriate conditions.
Now I understand there’s many people who fly for RYR in here and you will have a bias and never want to talk down on your own airline. Problem is you haven’t experienced any better.

Ryanair pilots apply in the masses to other airlines….a few pass but many fail. It’s all relative.
