Zero pressure since mainland pilots are pretty much bonded for life to one carrier.. They don't get to change airlines. Besides which all mainland carriers are short of pilot. There's 0 chance of this.

HKCAD can't ignore that all other airlines have no issue recruiting qualified pilots. Only semi retarded as*lickers need apply to HKA.

Neptunus Rex 28th Sep 2010 04:30

The majority of Mainland pilots cannot speak English, so are unemployable outside the Motherland. However, this is slowly changing with the numbers being trained overseas.

HKA Interview and Sim Eval

Hi....Starskate,

Send your resume' to: [email protected]

AAIGUY 29th Sep 2010 02:54

If you think you can retire on HKA money, you're sorely mistaken.
You'll be lucky to have money for the odd beer on HKA money. You'll be stealing them out of the galley and eating as much as you an onboard.

If you still want to come here, then don't worry.. they will hire anyone.
I mean it, anyone.. So if you've actually got that experience then you'll have more experience than the guys running the sim or asking you questions.

AAIGUY 29th Sep 2010 02:57

A better idea, if you are looking for work,
is to set up interviews @ Metrojet or Jet Aviation out here.
Both are looking for crews and pay 3 times what HKA does.

They are far superior in everyway. Hope thats helpful

no houseing allowance, no ID ticket, nothing, pls aviod HKA this is a Maninland Chinese company.

hongkongfooey 3rd Oct 2010 04:03

Starskate, the interview, sim etc, like the rest of the outfit, is a joke.
They can't afford to fail people as they have hardly any quality applicants so don't sweat it. Also if they made you do something like a single engine raw data ILS, that would be far in excess of the capabilities of most of their current drivers.

HKA is probably marginally better than unemployment, as long as it's not going to cost you big money to move here, just work on the minimum wage not the max, don't count on an upgrade, and anything better than that will be a bonus.

Good Luck

Good luck Starskate, they need you. Their brand new 330F is parked up in HKG doing nothing with a pax 330 sat next to it. Great business plan, buy $500mill+ worth of 330s and don't plan to have the drivers for them.

Point taken ;)

and I have flown the A320 Simulator a couple of time in the last 2 months
Be careful, bragging about the fact that you have more Airbus experience than 99% of HKA pilots, on a public forum, will do your cause no good ;)

Hi Hongkongfooey, may i know wht 's bonus & how much bonus do they offer last yr / this yr end. i knew they keep losing money.
Your joking are you?

If you really need an answer to this question.
No Bonus EVER in the time i was there, and no bonus EVER in the future. Unless you referring to the bonus you will be giving to the company when they slash your salary or conditions.

Do you want to join a company so inexperienced that they can not plan pilot training in advance when we all know they can not pilot future aircraft deliveries. Now aircraft costing millions are parked against the fence.

And a company who has management that has such inexperience they prefer to keep salary and conditions so pathetic and below industry standard. They just accept huge staff turnover rather than try and fix the problem.

HKA and HKE pilot shortage would be fixed when they pay more, offer good housing, children education, 6 week annual leave, decent rostering system, a fair annual leave system where pilot can plan family holiday with more that 2 week notice and much more. If they did this myself and all my colleague might be there still now, and the company would save millions in training costs, and kept experienced pilots. Like all smart airline managers do. They recognize experience. They know that training is a waste of money and they do something about it. They fix the problem. Not this bunch of inexperience managers. They love to lose Millions.

a friend of mine said that he heard that HKA/Express lost some of there financing. some said it s a Oasis air again, go bankruptcy without government assist.

condorbaaz 10th Oct 2010 18:01

if hka 330 drivers fly 100 hrs a months, that will translate to

Basic 40000
Type 20000
MBA (P) 15000
1-25 Hrs 8750
25-50 12500
50-75 17500
75-100 25000

= 138750 hkd = 17883 us$

So what is the problem?

useless 10th Oct 2010 18:39

i believe basic is 50000hk$ (if more than 3000h pic)
and you pay tax on that at the end of a year...15%(?)

and the most important....article is bit outdated (2008) but still applies

Thank you very much indeed.... Asking bacause i have some interest..but loosing it every minute! :ugh:

hongkongfooey 11th Oct 2010 11:34

WHy do you think it will not happen?
Ummm lets see :
1) you get 4 weeks holiday/year that leaves 11 months to fly x 100 = 1100hrs/year , you CANNOT fly 1100 hrs per year legally.

2) realistically it will take 4-6 months from start date to check to line, during which time you will be on training pay.

3) with the dealys etc around this place 100 block hours/month would equate to well over 200 duty hours

Good luck with that :ok:

PilotWA123 11th Oct 2010 12:03
