hi jam

well i have just checked etihads website aswell and i am wondering the same thing... but i applied for crew with the agency that is doing the shortlisting for them... and i was sent an email stating that i was shortlisted, and that they will get back to me with dates regarding interview/assesment day! but im now wondering when that will be! i see they are wanting lots of crew, but do they have a time scale, by when do they want to fill these positions? also to everbody on here, could i get your opinion guys... do you think that EY and EK favour you more with flying experience? i understand they say u dont need experience, but for male recruits do u think that they take that into consideration as they dont take many guys on?
if there is any crew that work for either EY or EK please spill the beans if you have any info?
would it not be great if there was recruitment staff on pprune who could give us hints and tips!! lol that would be fantastic wouldnt it, i know bit of a dreamer i am indeed! lol

thanks guys

well, no good news for you, I guess. I heard from EK recruiters that they really do not take into consideration your previous CC experience as it might be more difficult to train someone who has already been trained in a certain way which is different from theirs. It can be an advantage for you when being interviewed as you will be able to mention various situations and how you managed to deal with them. But if you are not the type of person they are looking for, your experience will not do.

Flying experience

hi ek ey qr dreamer!
well, during the assessment day in Brussels,16 people went trough the final interview, and only 2 girls of us have flying experience!they chose also 4 guys with no experience in aviation industry...Concerning the assessment day,as I can see,you have attended many interviews so you have an idea about the process,so just be your self because only the airlines know what they are looking for...I saw people trying several times, and they got the job after 2 or 3 years,so just keep trying,if it's your dream and if you are sure that you are mad to be cabin crew you will get the job for sure,it's just matter of time,I tried Ek few months ago,It was my first airline interview and I failed at the fourth stage during the open day,I went home very sad but at the same time I did not stop to think about joining a great airline such as those of the middle east, and one month ago I mad it...I will join Etihad soon and I'm very happy because it's a young and challenging airline,I have no regrets for EK...Good luck

Hi guys,
I've just received an email from Ryan stating that I can start on 21/10
I am so happy that finally I can start organising everything for my departure, now it has become real
Who else is starting on the same date? flight04, lyfsGud, Philippe747, fly84, misspepsi25, jceee, anyone else? Have you all already signed the contract?
Looking forward to seeing you all there

Hi,

I have received the 'we are happy to continue your application e-mail' and I just would like to know how does the medical go here in Abu Dhabi? What will I expect when I undergo the medical? Thanks!

Does any one know if when you have applied on line on the ET website if your "status" changes, i.e under review, or if it just stays the same. I applied 2 weeks ago and nothing has happened, just curios.

it happend to me too, one week before the assessment i received the invitation via email. and if i check the website now, my status is still under review. just hang in there, if the assessment date in your area is near, give them a call and ask them to review your application

Much thanks for that, there are no UK interviews coming up this month, so will call them at the end of the month to "casualy" check on the status of my application. Does anyone know the benefits of applying with the agency that is advertised on cabincrew.com. Would I double my chances or look like a desperate case!?!?!?

Thanks in advance.

^ In my country, there is an agency who first assess the applicants. You can go there if you didn't apply online and they will shortlist you. And during my assessment day, 3/4s of the applicants applied thru the local agency and 1/4 of us applied thru the etihad website. I think chances will be the same..

Hi sistem,
Not all people who were in the same assessment day as me got the final approvals the same day...Maybe they are just processing your files.
Good luck

Hi,

I'm on the 'waiting period' stage... Some of my batchmates were being called already for their police clearance while I'm still waiting for 'the call'.

If they told you to to 'feel free to contact us within 3 week if you haven't heard back from us..' It means I'll have to wait for 3 weeks right?

This waiting period makes me lose my head already. I still have hope right?

hi! a got the "happy to inform you.." e-mail.who can tell me more about the medical tests ? if they find sth is wrong what happens ? I suppose no one is perfect . if you have anemia or acneea you can heal in a month or two?I hope everything will be ok. I see that they ask you for weight and hight and I have only 46 kg and 163 h so it seems I'm not proportionate because I should have 50 kg .Do they take into account these things?

on the contract wich we received by e-mail they tell us to sign on the last page and e-mail it or send it by fax back to them .should I e-amail only the last page of the contract with the signature ? What should I write about the Desired starting date?a fixed date ?I think I will need some time to make my medicals and have time to solve them if something is wrong
