Hey there!i think it can vary. Mine took about two weeks after i submitted the results, but thats only because I had to keep resending reports because they didnt receive them clearly or they had misplaced it. I think it also depends on when your departure date is. The further away the departure date, the later you hear from them I think.

Hope this helps!

1) Is it possible to cut and paste from a word document (resume)?

2) What is the maximum size for the photo attachments? I have a head and shoulders and full length at 30kb each.

3) I know open days are being held in July in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, does anyone know whether they will be back in August or September?

4) If I apply online today, would it be possible to get an invite to the Brisbane open day July 8?

I really appreciate all your posts, you have no idea how much it helps. Before I found this site I was worried stiff about applying but now thanks to you guys I think I can do it.

Congratulations to all of you who have gotten in, and to all of you who are still in the process of applying, lets keep at it.

Hey there!

Welcome back from Japn--must have been an amazing experience! Yes, you can cut and paste your resume to the online application--best way to do it i think coz it takes a while to fill out otherwise.

As for the photo capacity, it details the maximum size on the application form---and any larger, it wont allow you to attach it anyway.

In terms of when Open Days are on, they are only detailed on the website, so its best to keep an eye on that as that is where you'll find most of the information you are seeking. To be invited to a particualr open day in a particular city, you need to register and apply where you see the open days' details of the one you want to go to. So you would need to register for the Bris July 8 Open Day if you want to be invited. In saying that though, you dont need an invite to go to the open day (but it can help).

hope that answers most of your questions?

Cheers,

Thanks,

I have just finished going through the online application form, what a mission! Will I get an invite to an open day from the online application or do I have to register for the open day itself?

Just a question about height weight ratios. I am 172cms tall and 85kg. I don't think I look overweight but according to the height weight ratios I am. Is weight a factor at the interview?

yep, you need to register for the particular open day you are interested in so you get invited to it. (dont worry if you dont get the invite though, still turn up regardless)

I wouldnt think so--there are so many different shapes and sizes who go to these open days and are successful. Just make sure you present yourself impeccably because that is one of the main things they are looking for. I mean, there were quite slim girls who turned up and looked amazing, but the second they opened their mouth to speak you really had to wonder.. Other girls werent stick figures or anything, but again they were dressed immacuately, spoke intelligently and did very well. The only real physical importance on the day is your height to ensure you reach the standard (212cms on tiptoes, without shoes). When it comes to your medicals and things, you do need to be of the healthy BMI (Body Mass Index). As long as youre not painfully underweight or overweight for your health, you should be fine. It is one of the first questions you get asked in your medicals...

Here comes a newbie with a question!

Hey y'all. I guess the title says it all. There is an Open Day for (yes, you guessed it again...) Emirates this coming Friday at a town nearby, which I am interested to go for.

But.
Yes, there is a "but".

I am a student, taking a few semesters off due to personal/financial reasons. I am thinking, 'why don't I try out and if I do make it- work as a F/A for a few years and then continue my studies?'

I am worried that it would be a disadvantage because of this, seeing that I have yet to complete my Adv.Dip.

So, what say you guys? Should I worry about this issue? Many thanks.

Don't worry about this at all, they don't really care about it as long as you show them the passion you have for this job. I too stopped half way through my university due to personal reasons and that was what I told them at first and they didn't even ask me why. I am waiting for my results after the final interview and I don't even know if I've made it or not, but even if I am not successful, I am quite sure it's not because of this sort of reason because I didn't get a single question about my incomplete uni degree. You do have to provide a copy of your highest education certficate but like they mention it in the criteria on their careers website, a high school diploma is good enough and that is what most applicants in my country had anyways. I've heard that sometimes they do ask you whether or not you have/want to go back to your studies but like I said, be wise and show them what you have. Good luck

Hey,

I got some information advising on photo's, references and stuff and where to send them because i didn't have time to organise everything before they left for dubai but i don't recall any contact information on the handouts. Just the address of where to send the docs they wanted.

No worries. I just got an invite to the Sydney interview on 22 July. Does the fact that I got an invite mean anything, or is it just the general procedure?

I have already bought a nice new suit, new shoes and am going for a manicure and a facial the day before the interview just to make sure I am looking my best.

Anyone else going to the Sydney interview? If so, see you there.

Hello! As far as I know, glasses are not permitted for CC...you can wear contact lenses but they cant be the hard type (i think). When you go for medicals, the optometry side of things is pretty strict if you need corrective eyewear....

Danger glasses...hmmm

hi to all ek aspirants
i fly with ek...off late referred to as eekk!!!glasses are permitted as long as you have prior approval from the grooming officers.they basically check your frame as long as it is discreet ,goes with the uniform,is approved...dont let whatever your interviewer say bother you....go for it....but be warned you are in for loads of surprises when you get here n not all of them are pleasant....but good luck and llikewe say here keep discovering!!!!
