Thank you loads for your responses Lusky and Littelmismel. Its a good thing for air conditioning. Emirates are coming to England this year so I'm definately hoping for an interview.
to anyone who was successful in getting through for emirates...do you usually fly with the same cabin crew which would enable you to build up friendships, or do the people you fly with change all the time.
yes you may gather i ask loads of questions...annoying i know!

EK Salary Expectations?
I see that the basic salary at EK is just around USD$1,000 and they pay about $10 an hour flight pay. I dunno about allowances? In a typical month how much can an FA expect to make based on hours flown, allowances and commission from on board sales. Is it possible to save the basic salary and live (pretty well) off these extras?
Also, how much does the salary/flight pay/allowance improve after the first and second years?

Need advice on Emirates walk-in
Hi Everybody!
After reading what you posted here for quite a while, I can't find any case similar to mine.
I was invited for a pre-screening interview a year ago but I couldn't join the interview becoz I had an accident. After that I did reapply online but I have never got any respond from them ever since.I heard the recruitment team are coming to my country this weekend but it's not an open-day.You need to be invited in order to join the interview.Do you think I can walk-in and explain them why I missed the interview last year? Has anybody ever faced the same situation like me? Do you have any suggestion on what I should do?
Thank you very much for your replies.

Hello WannaB,
I am wondering, did you call or write them an e-mail, why you hadn't been able to attend the interview at that time. I think, that they've just ignored you, the way you ignored them ( I presume )...and that's why they haven't responded to you. Try to find any numbers of their HR or write to their e-mail (it is posted on their website - for experienced cabin crew )...I'd do it?
It is a very awkward situation...I don't know?, maybe I would even attend the interview, but that is a bit too obtrusive, don't you think...but hey the worst thing they can say is that you cannnot attend the interview. But also after reading so much about people who haven't had any patience and attended the open days just after being unsuccessful at their pre-screenigns...and got through and even got the job, well....give it a try
Well, that is my opinion;hope it helps
Good Luck

Hello, Guys!
I have a preliminary screening interview next week in Brisbane.
I had a look all these information you guys gave. But I'm still very nervous about that interview. and they said it will take large part of the day.
Could anybody give me some info or advice for screening interview and final interview please? think this is different from open days.
Cheers,

Hi Lisa
I've just clicked on 'submit your application'! online so will wait and see if anything happens in the future. I was just wondering how you got to the stage of preliminary screening? did you submit your application online and then recieve an email or was it another way?

Thank you Luksy and lester727
Thank you Luksy and lester727 for your advice and helpful info
I called Emirates Headquarter this morning and told them my story. As a result, I'll be scheduled for the next upcoming interview since the interview has already started here and I'm too late for this round.
Have a nice day!

Johannesburg and rest of Africa???
hi to you all!
I saw that emirates' website currently shows the dates & venues for the upcoming open days. However, Johannesburg and rest of Africa (like Cairo, Nairobi etc) is being left out. Nevertheless they were on the initial list of cities where open days were being held at. WHat's happening? anybody know at emirates why they are not included in the final update??
I am currently staying in Cape Town, and thus travelling to Jo'burg would be easier as opposed to getting on a plane to the UK!
anybody at emirates knowing what's going on please advise!!
thank you!

Emirates
I've got a question to people who are familar with Emiratesrecruitment, I currently have 5 years of experience as a Cabin Crew with 2 years as Senior Cabin Crew. I've applied to Emirates but didn't get shortlisted for an interview, can someone tell me what went wrong, I did everything they asked for on-line, I filled out the on-line application with my pictures and references from people that i work with (Managers). I don't understand. I thought that they would prefer people with Cabin Crew experience, i guess i was wrong

Hi lester727
I hope you have sent them an e-mail for experienced cabin crew and attached the pictures and telephone number for them to call you on short notice, cause I believe that they are desperate for upgraded cabin crew,...but some have also mentioned that people with too much CCM experience aren't always preferable, cause they have hard time adjusting to airlines' ways of work. This is just a presumption,....hope I am wrong. Anyway how long did you wait for them to get back to you? I believe time period is somewhere from 3 to 6 weeks. And are you still CCM?
Try the e-mail ...I would if I was you...
Don't be saddened by this...
