ermm not sure what that hairstyle looked like (you guessed it, i am a guy)

but there were quite a few pretty blonde girls that made it through, and some pretty brunettes and well, us guys

i think all those girls you mentioned were in the first group on monday, as there werent that many in the 2nd

im in the business centre on level 1 right now, though its 11am and my interview is at 3, (i have to write my reference and send it to my boss in sydney for him to fix it!)

i just heard danni see someone out, and now my friend elena has just gone in ( she had dark hair and thick accent)

on saturday i had short blonde/browny hair (still do funnily enough) and a dark pinstripe suit. i was standing against the wall as you turn left from the stairs, and inside i was on the back most right table in the room

i should of sent some PM's around and such, im hear for another week and im no ones been able to give me any suggestions on what to do!!!

anyways,

i'll post back after the interview!

OOOOOW MY HEAD!!!

just finished the interview

handed in all my crap, then waited, then they called me in

amilita was ready at the writing pad, and danni was doing all the talking.

didnt take to long just asked a couple of behavioural type questions
"tell us a time, when you went out of your way to help a customer"
and that sort of thing.
then asked me why i wanted to join emirates
i think most of my examples were pretty weak
and im sure i mumbled aswell! haha hindsight sucks!!!

it only took around maybe 20-30 minutes

im waiting for the guy after me, and for some reason they are making him do another test! dunno whats wrong with him, or maybe even right

sorry if im ranting, but my head's still a bit mushy now

the only problem i have now is, that cause everything was done so quickly, its going to cost me around 160 bucks to bring my flight forward, so i'll now have nothing to do for a week!

any of you perth locals can give me suggestions? (apart from northbridge!)

thanks heaps, and too all those who made it
i'll see you in dubai! (that is, of course, if shiek ahmed likes my photo!)
haha i'd better stop writing, amilita and danni are standing behind me!

bye!

Well I bumped into one of the girls today (Clare, the one I mentioned earlier) She said there are 25 people in finals and Danni told her they are going to take 12.

I really think she will get in as she has lived in Dubai before, giving her a bit of an advantage. She is such a bubbly person too, so I'm sure she's a shoo-in.

Good luck to everyone else, Cannard, etc.

Hey Connor.
I also did my final interwiew yesterday, but in London.
So you only spent about 20 minutes in there as well??
I had been told it would take about 45 minutes. And when I walked out (feeling not so good about the interwiew) I was shocked!! I only spent 20 minutes in there I thought it was a really bad sign. But since you did the same I hope it is just normal

So the decision is up to the ppl in Dubai?? But the interwiewers must reccomend someone or at least give them some advise??

hey ppl am following this thread with avid intrest, just to let you guys know , after the final ints sometimes they give you a Physcometric test that involves u answering about 190 questions in a stipulated amount of time. Some view it as a good sign others as a "not so good sign" getting the physcometric test i mean. The test as such isint given to siginificant of a weighting, as most of your input would have come from ur behavioural interview. ANYWYAYS best of luck to all the guys who made it to the finalsbelieve me you are part of a select group, and have done well
cheers

Height requirements

Hello all,

I just noticed that unlike almost all the other airlines, EKīs height requirement is "minimum arm reach". My height is about 164cm. I tried to measure my "arm reach" (not the easiest task ) and itīs around the required 212cm.

Anyone has any experience concerning this? What is the real height you usually have to be to reach that 212cm? How strick they are about it?

Sorry for the stupid question, didnīt find any answers on the earlier posts .

Nordic, at the assessment day, they had a sticky tape mark on the wall. We had to take off our shoes and show them how high we could 'reach'. I think as long as you could touch the sticky tape you were okay - but I'm not 100% on this. I tried to reach as far above it as I could.

Hope this helps!!!

Angel

guys/gals..

Was just reading through your posts and it brings back the exact feeling of what it felt like when I applied for EK. Emirates is a fantasting company to work for. Just like any company you have your **** days and you have your great days. You have pax they are really nice and pax who are nasty. You have rules that suck and others which you live with. Overall, its a fun company.

I know the process of getting the positions with emirates is painfull and long. Just remmember guys, they have heaps and heaps of applications which they are assessing and things in dubai tend to take time. When you are in the waiting phase for your result, just do something exciting and continue on with your current job (if you have one) or go out and socialise. The more you stay at home and check your emails everyone twenty minutes will have a big impact if you were to receive bad news. I know I know, its hard trying not to think about it but YOU all have the mind power to do it.

For those preparing an interview with emirates. Three important key elements which they definately want to see and hear. 1 Communication, 2 Team work, 3 Customer Experience. Try not to be fake, because at the end of the day your true colours always come out.

If you miss out on emirates, then there are many other carriers who will be happy to see your application. Im sure I can let you do your own research on that.

Every crew memeber has been through the same steps as you might be right now. We all know what it's like to get good news and bad news.

Once you complete your interview, dont go around asking people if what you said was correct or incorrect. Analysing your interview like that brings false expectations sometimes..

I wish you all the best and I really hope the people who really want this job and are trully ready for it, GET IT.

mwa people, have to hit the sack. Im tired already

adios

Hello

I posted on here a few posts back asking how long it usually takes to hear from Emirates after having submitted your online app form. Well they rang me today ( 5 weeks) and told me I had been selected for an interview in Glascow. They didnt give me any further details and told me they'd email me. Has anyone else heard from these Glascow interviews????

I now feel a bit nervous. Does anyone know how many interviews you actually go through. WIll this interview be the same as those one day events i read about here where you go along, wait for ages, hand in pictures and work together as a team???

thanks
kelly

Hi Kelly.
You have been selected for the next stage. Witch means that you will get an invitation letter. And that is much better. I went to a invited interwiew last Saturday and got to the final interwiew. And there where only about 30 ppl invited So thats much better than showing up on an open day and like 200-300 ppl show up!
So concrats and keep us posted

only 12 skysista?

wow, i asked danni as well and she said the she would submit them all to headoffice, haha so may rumours i have heard so far about all this.

one girl out of our group (2nd day, 2nd group) didnt make it cause she couldnt reach the tape.

hopefully the 6 or 7 people that didnt get interview slots but were still promised interviews will have a much better chance when the ek crew return to perth.

btw how will i receive my rejection letter? mail, email or sms even?

well, from all the knowledge that ive gotten from here and everyone else, for all those wondering about the wait to get a reply:

1 week......bad
2-3............not so good
4-8............looks promising

but then, one fellow who made it to the final interveiw last year waited 12 weeks or so, after being put on hold once or twice, also got a rejection.

i hope i still have a job till i hear from them

Cannard,

take anything I say with a pinch of salt, please!

Anything with airlines as we all know is subject to change, I am sure 12 is the figure they had in mind, but I'm sure if everyone was top-notch and what they are looking for they will take all.

Good luck!

Question

@jobo

Hey, how long it took them to send you an invitation once you contacted Kay?

@Kelly26

Kelly, listen, they invited you to attend preliminary selecion, take your chance and go either to MAN next week or GLA later next month, what ever suites you better. NCL is definately posponed. If you need any advise to contact london office, feel free to pm me!

Hey Mashco!
Sorry, Iīve been in some trouble with my pm! But I donīt have the e-mail for Kay Hardy, I deleted them all already. But originally I sent e-mail to cabincrewdirect, and a week later I received an e-mail about I had been selected for the next stage. Then they send me the letter by post. So it went really quickly and smoothly.
Hopefully it will be the same if I will get the job
