Newbie :)

Hi everyone. WOW i wish i found this Forum earlier. So informative. Congradulations to those who have already received the golden call that is so exciting. And to those who are waiting, like myself I wish you all the very best of luck

I had my final interview about four weeks ago. Just sent off the Image and Uniform standards form that i was sent. Sent it off today fingers crossed.

Question If they ask for 2-3 more casual photos, even after you have already given them 3 casual photos at the final interview, is that a good thing.?? I also had to do the Psycology test after my final interview. And i just received the Image and Uniform Standards form yesterday, which I ust sent off today.

I hope its all Good News from here Thank you in advance.

If you ask your dentist for bitewing xrays they will understand... But it is as you described.

baggage allowance

Hi, I have one question: I know my baggage allowance on joining Emirates is 50kg...but what if I have conecting flights? Because they don't fly directly from my country and I will have to make a first flight with some other airline to conect somewhere else to Emirates flight...does anyone know if I also have 50kg on non Emirates flight? Does someone have the same problem?

Thanks!

Mmm007 why don't you call the other airline and ask? Then you'll know for sure

Mmm007 I've got also the same problem, EK flies from my country but not from the the city where I live, so I have decided to travel by train, there is no luggage restrictions. I don't think emirates is going to pay for the luggage from any city, just from the ones that they fly to.

Just one more thing: it's not 50 kgs, it's 50 kgs plus hand luggage!!

Question

hey here i come again ......WITH A QUESTION

recently i have graduated with a masters degree in social work and i have my first degree in sociology.now i was wondering which diploma should i give them as my highest academic certificate.

well i thought if i give them my masters diploma, they would reject me saying am over qualified cuz i read in this forum that people from the west and people with other options leave EK after being employed for a while and seen how the job is. my fear is they would think of me that since i have a masters degree and hence other opportunities , once i sow the job(and make them pay a lot ) i would leave the company. on the other hand i think social work thought me a lot of qualities that are relevant to CC work and i believe they know its relevance and they will consider that for me as an advantage

so am a little confused so guys and girls ...any comment would be appreciated
perhaps nlula 87, magicmorris or sublime could say something on it.

am kinda alone here. no one seems to be from where i belong. if there is anyone from Ethiopia please say something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question Raven's progressive matrices test

I just had my FI today and afterward I was asked to take a test. When I asked why and what it was for all the recruiter would tell me is that "oh your creative" and that it was a psychological test.... I figured like the online questionnaire I took last night before the interview.

It turns out it was the "Raven's standard progressive matrices -spm sets a-e occupational edition." As some of you may know, its the shapes test...

What annoys me is why the recruiter didn't tell me it was actually an IQ test ... I still think I did well but toward the end when it became more difficult I didn't try as hard because I thought it was a physiological test. I still think I did well...

What's even more confusing is that only some people were asked to take it. I've been searching the board looking for answers on this and no one seems to know why some people are asked to take it and others aren't

Figured I'd bring up the topic again and maybe someone can shed new light on this procedure... I don't think its just "random"... I believe there must be some reason for it and I'm curious to know if it's a good or bad thing.

Any idea's? Anyone know someone that did or didn't take it and was accepted?

Hi i was wondering the same thing. I also had to take that test after my final interview and while i was outside taking it, the girl who had her final interview after me didnt have to take it. Made me wonder a little bit. And when i asked another girl who had her final interview as well, she didnt have to take the test either.

Im curious.

Not sure if its a good or bad thing.
