Congradulations Alex34090. Thats is so awesome that they called you so promptly after your final interview. You must be so happy.

Yasmina is there an Open day in Melbourne coming up? Maybe there isnt, that why they sent you those Double check the website.

baccrat. I was so nervous going into my final interview but once i sat with the two recruiters, who were so lovely by the way, it felt more like a chat and getting to know me than an interview.

All the best everyone. I hope we all get some good news soon

To Yasmina

Hey Yasmina

I got the exact same email as you with all 3 locations. It depends on the date of the OD. I am going to the one in Newcastle on October 8th and I am from Sydney, will you be going to that one too?

I did register for Melbourne Open Day.

DKS278: Yeah I will be going to Newcastle because it's the closest to Melb, I'm stressing as I wanted to loose some kilos before the 22nd- now I've got a week!

HEEELPP!! Emirates Email Open Day

Helloo everyone, I'm stuck!!! Having to fly out to NSW for the Open Day when there's one in Melbourne!
I wanted to know if the refernce number on the email determines the location? In other words, can I go to the melbourne open day with the same ref number. Would I be considered absent because I didn't go to the allocated regions mentioned in the email?
Flights and accommodation from Melb to Newcastle arent exactly cheap!
PLEEEASSSEE HELP!!

Hi Yasmina,

You can still attend the Open Day in Melbourne on the 22nd. You won't be marked absent for the cities they invited you to, because none of them are Assessment Days - they are all OPEN DAYS. Only AD's do they invite specific candidates and mark whether or not you attend. I suggest you attend the one in Melbourne if going to Newcastle is too expensive. I'm not sure why the Melbourne OD didn't come up on the invite they sent you. But it doesn't mean you can't attend. Hope this helps

PS. I might see you there

Thanks so much for that! yeah it didnt make any sense why i would fly to another state! Does everyone that registeres for OD recieve the email or just a selection? Are you going to the Melbourne one? Is it your first time?

I'm not sure if everyone gets that email. I got a similar email when I applied a while ago, and same thing, it only gave me the other cities. And I ended up going to the OD in my own hometown, and it was fine. This will be my third time trying. First time I got to final interview stage, and second time not quite as lucky. I'm hoping it's a case of third time lucky!

Yes, I'm going to the Melbourne one. Just trying to decide whether I go to the one in October or November. We're lucky in Australia because they visit us quite often. Will it be your first time?

Yes it's my first time and I really want to succeed! I found a thread saying you're less likely to get noticed in major cities because of the crowd. Wheras other regions have less people. Maybe they offer less crowded regions on purpose for certain applicants based on their online profile? Apparently if there aren't lots of people, they also do AD within the same day (according to thread I read)Was the last OD in Melbourne over-crowded? I was thinking of requesting interview for AD, just unsure how this works and if you're more likely to succeed?

NO AD AUSTRALIA

I just noticed there are no Assessment days in Australia? Most countries have allocated dates up until DEC except AUS. Does anyone know why?

I can't see it on the website? Could it be invites only? Hence they havent listed Aus on the site?

There's no listing on the site for AD dates and regions? Could it be invites only hence no mention of Aus?

I'm so thankful that I found out about this forum!

Thanks guys for sharing your experiences with the whole process for Emirates.

But I hope you guys can help me out here. I have attended the recruitment day on Sept 10 in Toronto, Assessment Day the 11th and final interview in Ottawa on the 17th. I have been registered for Emirates website. My question is I only applied in person and I did not apply online.

How do I check the status of my application on Emirates? Or should I just wait to get an email from them (which is not under Emirates). I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on any of the process we gotta do.

Please please let me know guys!. Thank you so much in advanced!!

Hey guys, or for those people who got their golden calls already..

Do the recruiters actually call your references?

You can actually track you status online, doesn't matter if you have applied through website or in person. You can register now on emirates careers website. And by logging in your profile you will be able to see your status change from "application under review" to "application in progress" and hopefully to "you will be contacted by your recruiter at the earliest...." . Good luck to you, hope you will get your GC!

mzrhai Emirates do contact your referees. Actually, today has been my last day at my actual work and I had an exit interview, I asked my HR Manager where I work and she told me that Emirates sent her an email with a few things.... I guess it was a survey about me or something like that...
